Default Al Buhturi - Tobacco

SO let's challenge the Hookah Pro Members ...

OK, usually I can find ANYTHING online, but I CANNOT find this brand of hookah tobacco.

If anybody can find a place that sells it for me, I would be VERY THANKFUL!

Cheers and Thanks!

(I "THINK" I have the correct spelling, but not 100% sure)
... it is a very traditional Syrian mu'essel, which the Syrians claim is the first commercially made mu'essel. Hajo sent me some, and I want some MORE!

Fantastic! BUT, it is more traditional, it is not fruity or flavored, except for the natural spiciness/flavor of it. I really enjoyed it! I AM supposed to do a review, but I couldn't remember the flavors, just that it was something REALLY different and authentic!

I'd try some traditional mo'assel...but I have a huge feeling I won't like it too much. I can't stand smoking anything that tastes too tobacco-y...If it does anyway lol

It's simple why you can't can't buy it Samb. The stuff is from Syria and the company doesn't export. If you want it you have to go to Syria or get someone to pick it up for you.

I should be getting so Al Buhturi soon as I'll be in Syria on business this Friday. I'll try and remember to get some extra when I stop by the cafe I buy it from (it's called something like mountain top or Zenith). I just finished a bowl of Al Buhturi and it was fantastic. I understand they have something like 15 flavours but i've only had the one I sent you. If you liked Al Buhturi you'll love the Manthnani sample I sent you.

Al bukhari is something i've heard of but never tired. Al Buhturi is named after the famous poet as are a lot of traditional mo'assel and jurak

No, while I like those brands stuff like Salloum plain and Zaghloul are old fashioned "black" mo'assel. The stuff we are talking about is flavoured with honey and/or various herbs and spices but it's not like jurak because it has glycerine and a less thick consistency.

Hopefully if hajo remembers to get that for Sam he will send me a bowl (wink wink nudge nudge). I'd like to try something even more traditional than Nakhla or Salloum.

The "black" style products can be very rewarding to smoke but Occidentals often don't do it right. On the other forum someone many of us have the misfortune of knowing tells people to put coals right on the mo'assel which will wreck it. I'll post something I wrote about black setup when I get the chance. If you set it up right it will be nothing like cigarettes (which I hate) and they have a lot of flavours AF black is without a doubt the best product they make.

Anyway, Al Buhtur has a lot of flavourings as does most of the old style mo'assels which are nothing like black products.

I'd be interested in your tutorial and recommendations of this style shisha. It would be nice if you could limit your recommendations to what would be readily available to people that lived in the states (if any would be).

In terms of what you can get in the states I can think of Salloum plain & Zaghloul are it in terms of "black" products although HH Cavendish is "unflavoured" and very good if you can enjoy subtle flavours and don't something as full bodied as the black stuff. If you want a classic "flavoured" about all that is around is Afzal Paan which is one of the best shishas on the market because it has tons of complicated flavours, produces more smoke then average with a ton of texture and it's cheap as well.

I'll get the how to thing up shortly.

The Al Buhturi mu'essel was fantastic! I can't quite describe it, but it definitely was NOT like a cigarette. It was like a very spicy blend of these wonderful aromas! Very traditional, smelled and smoked like something I have never tried before. I would definitely like to try it again ... if you like the fruity flavors, then this bran d and flavor is NOT for you. It was more along the lines of a spicy herbal smoke ...

Hajo, if you can get me some non-traditional tobaccos, that I cannot get here in the states, I would greatly appreciate it! And will obviously pay you for taking the time to get them for me ...

Thanks so much!

And thanks to everybody trying to help me find this brand! Greatly appreciated!

Cheers!
