Default Bowl Differences/Advantages

OK so this may have been asked already, but I dont see a thread....

What are the differences/advantages in bowls? I mean, I can see the PHYSICAL difference, but I mean why a Phunnel, over say an egyptian clay? or a regular Ceramic bowl?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

ill start off with funnels. just cause

Phunnels. even the small hold more tobacco than egyptians, and because of how its made, its a more flavorful smoke and last anywhere from an hour and a half to like 8 hours. crazy stuff. And the length of the bowl makes it easier to take off the stem because it isnt as hot. and lastly the most you would have to clean out of the stem afterwards is ash.

I see, yeah I thought of that too, I mean, the shisha going over the top of the air holes really doesnt seem like a GREAT design, but I'm sure it works :P anyone else?

Phunnel bowls are the best for very juicy tobacco since it doesn't let the juices flow down the stem, thus letting some of the flavor go away. I don't really use standard Egyptian bowls since there holes are usually big. I have a Saudi Arabian bowl from HC which has 5 smaller holes. I also have a med. phunnel as well.

As you said before Egyptian bowls work and that is 100% true getting other bowls are just upgrades imo.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask anything else

yeah my concern was the juice as well. I'll be picking up some bowls for sure then. I just wanted to ask to make sure it was worth the cahs (although I know they arent that much, but you must remember I have more than one hookah :P)

even if you have more than one, unless you always have em going at the same time you really only need one or two of each

funnels also don't allow the weter brands to make a mess of your downstem(inside and out) by keeping the juices contained in the bowl. And this where you get the longevity of smoke and flavor. If you go w/a funnel you will prolly want a mod aswell. They keep the foil from being sucked onto the hole and they allow you to use less product.

Hey I haven't recieved my phunnel from the smoke shop I ordered it with and i was wondering...With a phunnel can you place the coal in the middle of the foil because of the hole in the middle, it wouldn't touch the tobacco and would just be more heat in the middle when the sheesha is around it causing more heat and less product used for coals. I hope that makes since lol I'm mad tired from work today.

never tried that. But I would imagine if you were using a 40mm disc coal you would have better luck. You do want your coal over your moassell to differing degrees.

and now that I think about it, because there is only one large, elevated hole, you may heat you smoke. And that's no fun!

not just that, but 1 coal in the center would weigh down the foil and block the air hole...

you wouldn't get much air period... warm or cool
