Default Hobo Hookah

Back in October 2007 I came across a portable hookah that isn't your standard hookah. It's called the Hobohookah. They include a base, but it's for the most part just a stem with a hose screwed on and a bowl which is intended to be used on ANY bottle (such as liquor bottles, ect..) I was just curious if anyone else has heard of it and actually bought one from Hobohookah.com and if it is any good.

When I first started searching for hookahs online I too came across them. Never bought one or knew anyone who did. Looked kinda crazy but I guess it would work.

Yeah I think it's a cool idea. I've wanted to pick one up for a long time now, but never got around to it. I need to do some serious re-stocking soon, so maybe I'll pick one up just to try it out. Plus I think they have a 30 day return policy so that's pretty good.

The idea is cool, and from the videos I have seen they produce great clouds and fit on many different types of bottles. The only thing that turns me off is the price and that there is no purge valve.

I remember reading about this. I believe thehookah.com used to have one similier to that design by the name of the witch. They sound nifty but I don't think I'd replace my 32" with it.

Yeah, I posted about this a while back. People pointed out to me that there is no purge valve and that for the same price, you get get a way nicer quality Egyptian rig.

I would take a decent Egyptian over the Hobo any day, I am not a partier. So I don't really need a hookah that can go from bottle to bottle...Also I need a damn purge valve.

I would go out and a KM instead of the hobo. 60 bucks is too overpriced for something that you could probably make.

i have one and it is awesome for parties when i dont want to risk my other hookahs breaking. it is also nice that it is very portable!! it had a slightly harder pull, but still can produce great clouds! i usually use a captain morgans handle as my base and a tray from my mya qt. if u have money for a spare hookah, i thnk its a great buy and looks awesome with a liquor bottle as the base!

Ok, shouldn't Hobo = inexpensive? Most of the time? Jk, it is definately a conversation starter though.

Eh Hobos don't impress me at all. There is no purge valve and there is no ashtray. There are so many rigs out there that are cheaper and functional imo

Its a neat idea, but I think their cheaply made and the smoke is somewhat harsh due to the shortness. I may be wrong those. Id go for a cheap 24" hookah! U can prolly find one for $15-20 more.

At first when I saw it I thought it was a really good idea, but then as I started thinking about how good my hookah smokes now, I doubt the hobo-hookah smokes nearly as good and I don't want to spend like $70 to downgrade lol I actually want to buy a KM soon though.

Given the cost of materials and amount of engineering involved, or lack thereof on both counts, I would only be willing to pay $10--$20 tops. This is, in my opinion, fair market value considering there are perfectly workable units available that ship replete with a vase, accessories, and sampler tobacco in the $30 to $35 range. The "Hobo Hookah" is as barebones as one can get and its price should reflect that.

lol, they even had a "barebones" version, which was the pipe w/out a hose, or bowl. and it was still like 35 bucks iirc... rip
