Amaren Apple

Setup:

Narghile: I used my Turkish all brass plated with nickel rig.

Bowl: I switched out the bass one I normally use with that rig and used my medium funnel with foil instead.

Coal: Golden 1 1/2 Eagle 40mm quick light broken into 3 parts.

Water: lots of crushed ice and a little bit of water

Appearance: Red, sticky, wet. Medium cut with no stems

Time: Session was about 45 minutes.

Smell: A fruity, non-specific smell that reminded me of AW 5 star

Smoke: White and later gray with average density.

Taste: Mild but peasant. No real apple taste or anise as is often the case. Vaguely fruity .

Buzz: I never get a buzz from shisha

Conclusion: While Iíd say this was a decent smoke I canít say it was particularly satisfying but it was free so I canít complain. I want a lot of flavour when I smoke and since this didnít deliver I canít say Iím too interested in spending money for it in the future.

If anyone else has tried this brand Iíd be interested hearing about it.

Brand and Flavor: Amaren Lemon & Mint

Shisha Cut: Loose Cut, Dark, Not too much juice. Similar to Nakhla

Hookah Type: Egyptian 30 Inch, 1 Hose KM

Duration: 50 Minutes

Bowl: Small Clay Bowl

Foil / Screen: 1 piece of heavy duty foil

Coal / Amount: 2 exotica coals

Smoke: Nice clouds. It did not take much to get it going as I do one coal at a time.

Buzz: Not much

Smell / Flavor: The smell was very pleasant, the lemon was strong with a smooth mint in the back. When smoking, the tobacco was a little harsher in it presence but the flavor wasnt too bad. This shisha is from Jordan and I will say it is different than any other companies I've tried. The mint was not too strong and the lemon did stay the dominant flavor.

Rating (1 to 10): 6.0/10
I feel it was a decent shisha mix. I prefer to make my own Mint/Lemon mix but this, for the price of 14 bucks for 250grams was not too bad. Anyone who enjoys a stronger tobacco taste, you may enjoy this quite a bit.

Strange review. This is a staple and I always have a box with me as a backup in case I run out of my favorites (or just to smoke on it's own).

I almost always use my 32 inch Egyptian, clay bowl, precut foil and al-Hind QL coals. With icy cold water and a washable pipe (the flavor pervades), I get thick clouds for approximately 30 minutes and the flavor is blueberry-ish with a kick, slight hints of wintergreen and is the best mix on the market.

A great variation is to add a drop of cool mint (usually al Fakher) which really makes this a fantastic smoke.
