Tangiers looks kinda gross. It looks like a whole bunch of baby tapeworm that were smeared in tar or something. Either way I need to get some. I will try this horchata everyone is talking about, and compare it. I have real horchata all the time, we will see if it can compare . BUAHAHA

My acclimating method is to put the Tangiers in a tupperware bowl and stir it up with a plastic fork, let it sit out in the air for 4-6 hours stirring every 30 minutes. After that you just need to put the lid on it and enjoy it.

When I went to visit Eric, this is the method he showed me.

I've never had a bad session since then.

OK so this morning I dared to try some cool strawberry. I acclimated for around 36 hours, my whole room smelled like amazing strawberries. I packed just like this instructional said, poked holes almost exactly like the pic. I popped on 2 coco naras, one with the large side down and the other on its side. As soon as I did that I heard the tobacco sizzle. I wait a few minutes and took a pull. Hmmm....ok, this is interesting. I got a good cloud, no harshness......but no flavor. I kept on smokin to see if it would improve. After like 15 minutes it started to taste burnt so i took off a coal and moved the other. At the 25 minute mark I got a HINT of flavor. What I don't get is if the tobacco is packed over the rim, won't it burn and taste burnt? I'm not giving up just yet but i'm curious as to why the tobacco smelled amazing and I got almost no flavor.

what bowl are you using? I use 3 coco-naras on the small phunnel (one either standing upwards and the other 2 down in a triangle pattern)

How would the tobacco touching the foil be any different? All thats happening is the tobacco is getting stuck to the foil because of the sticky juices heating up. The tobacco doesn't actually burn, if it burned the whole bowl would be ash. When you overheat it, you bring the tobacco closer to combustion but its still no where near.

When you packed did you mix up all the juices really well? How has the humidity been where you live also? From my experiences, if it has a smell to it, you should definitely taste it.

Guys, i don't even use a phunnel for Tangiers anymore. I got tired of using 50 grams everytime i wanted to smoke. it works just like normal tobacco, in a traditional Egyptian bowl or Mya Bowl (i prefer a shallower bowl because if i smoke too long it gets to my stomach).

Pack it like you would nakhla, and don't add too much heat and you should be fine.

But, Tangiers does stay pretty well in the phunnel for a couple days or more after you smoke some. It's a very hearty tobacco.

I used a small phunnel. I mixed it really good before I packed. I used ice water in the base. I was talking to Husky before and he said to use room temp water and he only uses 1 QL. The smoke was fine but just wasn't flavorful at all.

Eric actually told me the colder the water the bigger the hit but less flavor.

if you use warm water youll get more flavor according to him. i usually use room temp

OK thanks. I'll try again tomorrow with the peach iced tea. I think i'm gonna stick to the 2 coco naras, 3 seems a bit much.

I use 3 coconaros on my Medium/Smallish Phunnel. (Its the perfect size ) Triangle Pattern, flip em every half hour If you think its to much heat you can always have them along the edge of the bowl..

Scoop, clean your room

Also, I feel like someone failed to mention this, so I will. If you like to under-pack, with Tangiers, you might as well either re-pack or not smoke at all. Because of the nicotine, it becomes unsmokeable.

If they smell fine you probably dont need to acclimate them that long, 4 hours is probably enough..

Horchata is the bomb! A nice milk cinnamony taste

I might also suggest one of his new flavors, Static Starlight. Bought to drop my second round of coals on this bad boy.

I will tell you that Static Starlight is almost like smoking Nag Champa incense.

It's quite a nice change of pace, if you ask me.

I think I'll have some tomorrow.
