Default Tangiers this Tangiers that....

It kinda gets annoying seeing all these Tangiers topics with people having trouble and im thinking "Why dont the people who make Tangiers do something so you dont have to do so much to get it to smoke proper?" I could be wrong as they might have made it to do all those stuff but I think it's abit annoying.

What do you think?

its because of the way he makes the tobacco. he is working on a washed line so people who cant get it can smoke that. all the topics can get annoying and its hard. i just want you to share in what i enjoy. tbh, the same thing happened to me before i smoked it. i was living it up with AF and i loved it. people kept talking about tangiers and i was like whatever, sounds like crap, you have to do stuff to make it work, wtf is that tobacco...i tried tangiers, thought it was the worst thing ever, wasted 3 250g because people kept saying its good. I kept talking shit ,saying it was gross, then i was shown how to do it and i like it. i just feel its a good product with a very good price.

part of the fun of smoking tangiers, other than thier great flavors, is the fact that it takes a little work to do it properly. And once you do, it's all the more gratifying. Also, many of us like the fact that tangiers is a stronger, unwashed moassell that "puts out"(buzz).Any changes to the recipe would probably effect the way it smokes and would make it no different than any other brand. In a nutshell, the difficulty in smoking and the unique flavor have garanteed that this brand has a loyal group of customers!
BTW, Tangiers is working on a washed line for all you sissies!

its not that bad of a product, but if you cant handle buzzes its certainly not for you. i would like to see the washed line, see if its any good personally. if someone is really enthusiastic about the brand, they will keep at it till it works for them. if not well yeah theres always AF and SB

Well you asked and he listened. The new Tangiers will no longer need to be acclimated or require you to use a phunnel. You will still have to watch your heat management though, still takes only 1/2 the coals you would normally use.

Its really quite easy to get a handle on, I smoke more Tangiers than any other brand. Overpack the phunnel, make lots of holes, use 1/2 your normal coal amount and enjoy

Huskysibe said it all. There are no problems, just obstacles you have to work around.
I have a question though,
say the last time you acclimated was sometime in winter
now it's summer, would you have to reacclimate everything?

acclimation is just to let the tobacco get used to the humidity. if the humidity is the same then no, if not then yes. id let it sit out for a few hours and bask in the air before smoking.

it all depends on how wet or dry it is from time a and time b. say it snowed a lot and now its dry and you havent had rain for a couple months. thats when you should let it sit

His Noir style has changed. I am not speaking of the washed line. He has reformulated all of his shisha and it should perform different than before.

I feel like the hard-to-smoke aspect of Tangiers might be exaggerated. For instance, I had a great smoke my first time.
I think the difference is, much like on a computer forum or car forum, people don't generally post when they have a good experience. Thus, I feel like most of what you hear about Tangiers is questions from the people who are having troubles, despite the fact that there are many people who have no problems.

Maybe it's a stupid question, but only Tangiers need a Phunnel bowl? Or every other shishas are better with it?

none needs a phunnel bowl. it just makes a better smoke if you use one. the juices stay and dont drip down the stem.

personally i use it for everything, but you dont have to

Exactly. NOTHING has changed in the production of Tangiers Tobacco. The only thing being done differently is the grooming (removal of stems). Again, not a single production process step has changed.

billyy - you have to understand that this is a forum and like any other forum people come here with either issues or praise. Everyone has different preferences and just because someone likes a product it doesn't make it good and because someone hates the same product it doesn't make it bad.

I will tell you that Tangiers Tobacco is made with great care. The production process is tedious and hard work. The tobacco is tested many times before flavors are released to the market which is a reason for the washed line taking a bit of time to hit the shelves.

If anyone has questions of issues with their tobacco please PM me and I'll see how I can help you.

How is it you know so much about Tangiers? Are you the manufacturer? Or a vendor?
