Default Shallow Bowl

I've been noticing that everytime i attempt to smoke shisha it always ends up getting burnt. I think that this is because my bowl is too shallow. Its really wide and holds like 17 grams but it seams like it just isn't deep enough. I want to make this thing work cause i can't get a new one right now. Any suggestions? Its almost like this, http://www.hookah-shisha.com/store/p...&idproduct=987 but the sides curve out a little more making it just a bit wider and a little more shallow.

Make sure there is a little room between he foil and the shisha. If the the shisha is burned to the foil at the end then there isn't enough room. Also, make sure the coal rests on the edge of the bowl. I rest mine on the side of the bowl and only put a little of the coal on the foil. This should help the heat warm up the tobacco without scorching it.

Its normal for it to burn since your placing heat on it. If your tobacco sticks to the bottom of your foil when you take it off your packing it too high. If it tastes burnt you can try taking a little bit of the heat off and blow the smoke out. Don't be scared to use that purge valve I use mine at like every pull. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

I, too, used to believe I burned the tobacco, until I realized it's supposed to come out black.

yep. having the foil touch the tobacco doesn't do anything different or bad.

As long as your smoke isn't harshing on you and the taste isn't burnt, keep doing what your doing. You can also try and double up on the foil. If it is an issue.

my smoke is tasteless :/ im pretty sure im burning it and when i take the foil off it does look black in areas. i tried double foiling and left a coal on it for like 3 mins and it didnt smoke much. i think i may be piling the shisha too high, but i did it just like it says in sambookas how to video. Another problem could be that my 3 kings coals are fake im pretty positive, they only last like 20 minutes and it says theyre made in china. I need to find a good hookah store in the metro detroit area. do hookah bars usually sell shisha and coals? i might just try that.

yeah i used to over pack my bowls.. its great till you get towards the end and it starts to burna little.. then you take off a foil and there is like 1/3 of you tobacco stuck to the foil.. so yeah leave some room.. its soo worth it.

i cleaned my hookah with water and wiped it dry, i dont understand how it being cleaned with anything else will affect it too much because i havent gotten any taste from the start. as for the shisha, ive used nakhla and havana, its all the local store carries, as i said i need a new vendor. the strawberry banana havana seems a LOT more moist then the strawberry nakhla i tried, and i stirred them both before using them.

how much space should you leave then? like i said thats kind of the problem of the shallow bowl, its like a plate instead of a bowl, maybe not that dramatic but you know what im sayin.

Wash that stuff out with lemon, lime, or orange juice.

I personally use lime.

To give it a good deep clean, squeeze two large limes/lemons/oranges into your vase and let it sit overnight. Be sure to add enough water where it goes up to the brim of the vase.

I use hard alcohol to clean my phunnel.

to clean the phunnel, you can just use a steel wool and rub the crap out of it. all the resin from the tobacco will come off.

if you want to get rid of the smell, its much much harder. i usually put a spotter in the bottom, fill it with rubbing alcohol and epsom salt, put a finger over the top hole and shake till my arm is numb. i pour it out, refill it and let it sit for a few hours.

The bowl itself is what has the flavor, bah. I dunk the entire thing in a large tupperware full of citrus juice and water.
