Default AF Soft Black

Some of you have asked about one of my favorite products - AF Soft Black which isn't sold in the the states these days. Anyway, here is a photo I put up of it on my gallery:http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/kk230/HFlettner/

Yup. AF has been releasing new flavors every few months. Looking forward to trying soft black. I wonder if it's anything like Nakhla's Zaghoul?

Is it just regular hookah tobacco with no flavoring in it?

BTW I know someone who tried the AF Pipe flav. I've heard it tastes more like CHOCOLATE than pipe tobacco. Haha its weird...If AF Pipe tastes like chocolate...Then wtf is AF chocolate supposed to taste like?! lol

I ordered a kilo of AF pipe but I have yet to try it. Soft Black is the oldest flvour that AF makes it was the one that built the marque into the giant it is today. Flavour wise it's pretty complicated and not much like Zagloul although both are black style mu'essels. Zagloul is lighter with more cedar and leather like tones and a somewhat spicy after taste (all muted of course) while Soft Black is richer, heavier with muted fig and molasses after tones. Both are very good just different. Personally I think that Shh 'el-beled is the best as it has an after taste like maduro wrappers so it's pretty fantastic.

It is pretty good Kwikwi although Shh 'el-beled and Serbetli premium dark are better because it's like smoking a great Honduran cigar made entirely out of maduro wrappers and it's pretty tough to get better then that.

I might have to have some Serbetli sent over here. Already picking up a few things from PCServe and might see about getting that one. Thank you Hajo for this information.

Hajo all of this black stuff you keep talking about makes me really want to try it! Abu sent me some zaghoul along with my 50g of af grape. I have yet to smoke it, but I imagine I will soon. I love the smell of the zaghoul, and the way you described soft black sounds like something I would enjoy.

I have a sample of Zaghloul that I haven't tried yet. Might give it a go tonight and let you know how it is!

You ordered a kilo of something you've never tried? I sure hope it doesn't disappoint! I'm looking forward to trying it myself, but I'll go for a somewhat smaller amount my first time out.

Serbetli is unwashed and a lot what they make pretty strong if you are used to American style stuff. A Turkish girl I know ships me a lot of the stuff I smoke and I am not sure what Serbetli blacks are sold in Germany. Anyway, I hope I am of help.

A lot of the stuff I get has a requirement of 1 kilo minimum purchase per flavour but I save about 30% that way and if I don't like something I can always sell it or give it away.

It seems like this would be similar to a cavendish.

The interesting about tobacco is that it's a lot like wine or beer in that even though it's pretty simple it can be processed a thousand ways to create very different tastes even without molasses or glycerine. The only Cavendish style shisha I know of is Hookah-Hookah's Cavendish which although it uses a mild, golden Cavendish is still a great smoke although personally I prefer heavy, full bodied flavours you get from darker cavendishes.

I hope you enjoy the zahgloul Larry. I've already mixed it w/some glycerin and organic honey, so it should be ready to go!
