Default Washable KM Hose!

In case you guys didnt know but HC sells these KM hoses

http://www.hookahcompany.com/ultimat..._3172_prd1.htm

I got one a couple weeks ago before George started stocking them up.

Mine had a little problem.. Some of the cardboard used to make the handles was coming apart and making the draw almost impossible. Last weekend I got to work on fixing it

I took the actual hose out and ended up replacing it with 5/8" 10ft clear tubing. Had a little bit of trouble getting it in the handle part but I managed. Did a little bit of sewing and I was done

Watcha think?

Pretty cool fix there Scott. I have a question though, did you wear an apron while you were sewing?! LOL

Dang dat is pretty neat!

But I'm just wondering, won't the cardboard handles (the parts inside) get wet when you wash your KM hose mod?

You gotta be extra careful when washing it. On one end of the hose im able to pull some of the tubing up, I fill the water in on that side. But if water did get in.. It could be bad, nothing yet though!

Dats crazy!

I forgot what its called, but there's this special wax that you can just brush on surfaces and it will pretty much waterproof it. Maybe you should try to find something like that and maybe it will help out with the washing of your KM Hose ^_^

No, but it looked pretty much like your regular mya hose but white (did have a KM logo on it though). I did the gutting and replacing at my parents house, the sewing (no homo) was done at my apartment.

Yea that futon doesn't have much of a mattress so I sit on a pillow and use a pillow to rest my back on. IKEA ran out of the mattresses that fit so I have to wait like 3 weeks till they get em in.

Hardest part was getting it into the handle.. I had alot of trouble with that part. You might beable to go bigger and still be able to sew around.. it was pretty easy with th 5/8" though.

Nice fix bru. Is there a way you can just take the cardboard out when it is time to wash and then just put it back in later? Or do you have to leave it in. You might just have to get a funnel that makes sure that 100 percent of your water goes into the tube lol. Like the funnels from auto zone. Try it!

Nothing to do with the hose, but I just wanted to comment on the excellent idea of using the mat from a car floorboard under the base for a "coal catcher" very nice.
