Thumbs up Tangiers

I had my first bowl last night, the flavor was Horchata which I aclimated for 4 hours though it smelt awesome straight from the bag I then packed it in to a med phunnel bowl using the guide Scoop posted (thanks Scoop), going totally against everything I know about packing a bowl and got perfect results the first time
I absolutely love this stuff, I've found a new favorite and will be exploring more of their flavors, packing isn't hard at all and the taste is so much deeper than anything else I've tried, I'm converted

Being in the san diego area, the guy who makes tangiers is right by my school. I hear great things about tangiers but am kind of hesitant because i think they caffeinate their tobacco.

They have a caffinated line for those who like their caffine and yes it's high in nicotine but I use a modified carbon filter once I reach a level of buzz that's comfortable which filters it out allowing me to smoke as much as I like

That filter is bloody amazing!!!! I never thought of anything like that before. I guess now with the lucid line being out no one has to use a filter, but if there wasn't I would have to get me one of those. Did you make it yourself? I wouldn't mind learning how to make one if you did. Perhaps, you could send pics or make a thread or something . Anyway glad you liked the drink. Wait till you have had you some of the drink, Horchata is good, and according to Abu it tastes just like the drink.

The filter is awesome, it's just one that's for sale on several sites including HS but the carbon is too fine creating drag so I replace it with pelletised carbon and remove the 2 screens which also create drag and cause condensation (they're no longer needed because the pelletised carbon doesn't escape the chamber), I also place it in the hose port before the hose rather than at the hose tip which prevents any possible condensation from entering your mouth.
It's also fantastic for introducing non smokers to hookah as they don't experience the nicotine overdose that makes alot of people ill when they first try it (I think we all overdo it the first time lol).

Nice!
Congrats on the good session and welcome to the dark side.

Tangiers has three lines now: regular, which is high in nicotine; f-line, which is high in nicotine and is also caffeinated; and lucid, which is washed.
I'm fairly certain that there's something for everyone in his line up now.

What you studying at State?

As others have mentioned; all the tobacco isn't caffeinated, just the specific F-Line so there's no need to worry. Stop on by some time. Eric is a great guy and will answer any questions you have. Also, if you're not into large buzzes, there is the Lucid line which is lower in nicotine.

Same thing my buddy said last night after we smoked a bowl. It is pretty damn good. I was particularly impressed by the Tasty Peach, which I mixed with Clove for ultimate deliciousness.

the last Clove i got was unfortunately impossible to acclimate, so i never did get to try it out (not that i would be able to smoke it fully anyway!)
The Passion Fruit i got today smells very strong, but also very, very good; i'm hoping it's not over-powering (it's scaring me). But I would prefer Horchata Lucid over Horchata Standard. I compared them today, and the buzz is mellow but there, but the taste seem to be more realistic.

if the buzz is too strong, mix the bowl like 70% AF or whatever washed you have with 30% tangiers for a couple smokes, then go 50/50 for a couple, then try all tangiers. took me about a week to get used to the nicotine
