it may just be that the quality deteriorates a bit, but I cant see them going "bad" to where you couldnt use them....BUT dont take my word for it

Try them out on some unsuspecting passer-by and tell us if he drops.

theres going to be carbon monoxide no matter what.

Are you sure May 2007 wasn't the manufacture date?

I have bought some 3 kinds as well that were about a year old, and they worked just fine as long as the packs were sealed off and no openings then you should be ok.

It just makes them hard to ignite. Light them on a stove and you will be fine.

well when you open the box and on each sleeve it says a date right on top. is that date the expiration or manufacturing date? it says it on the flap that seperates the 2 layers of 5 roles of coals. i actually think it may be the manufacturer's date cause they worked fine. anyone know for sure?

Haha, if that were a expiry date. Then I think the only problems you might have had would be the quickness of lighting.

Indeed. The manufacturing date. These dates were printed on each roll so they could be matched to dates on the box or the insert with the "Counterfeit Warning".

You match the date of the box contents to the marked date in the box.... that way you know your getting the true 3 Kings experience...blah..blah....

Old coals dont go 'bad' as much as they just loose the fizzle that they would have had new...and dont light up as fast.

Usually they will have both if at all.

Most will have an date that says "Valid until". Shisha is generally considered good for 2 years after the manufacture date

I used some golden coals about 2 weeks ago that I had for 4 years. They were fine except it took a little longer to light them. I'm not dead, so that must be a good sign.
