Default The Windcover and You

What the hell is this? Why isn't there a windcover that will work for those of us not using toy hookahs?

I am too lazy to go out of my way and find a can that is 10 inches or longer and turn it into one.

I use a windcover from time to time and my 31" syrian is hardly a"toy hookah".It would be nice, however, to find a windcover tall enough to dance w/my funnel.

Man, you are lucky.

Even the biggest windcover I've seen is a tight fight for my Egyptian bowl.

I tried Sambooka's idea about a week ago and it has been working great for me. I did make a small modification but only to add sturdiness. The good thing about having the foil is that it's customizable to any size needed and it's super light when handleing...And when I have to handle something that's hot as hell the last thing I want it to be is a big bulky piece of metal

Almost forgot. Before I saw Sambookas video I used to do something similar to what the girl in the second video did but, instead of leaving it loose around the bowl I would wrap the bottom alf of the cover around the bottom of my bowl...It really helps when carpet burn marks from drunk buddies hitting your hookah becomes an issue.

I use a windcover a lot ... it really helps with heat management when your coals are getting smaller.

The extra tall windcover from HC stil isn't tall enough for my MZ when using a phunnel bowl. With regular bowls its fine though.

I know Socialsmoke.com has a XL windcover and it was monsterous. I gave it away though. I just kept my smaller gold looking one for my hookah. Well I hope you find what you are looking for.

I use for every session with a standard Egyptian bowl. When I use a small Super Chief or Funnel bowl I don't because my windcover doesn't fit. The windcover makes heat management nearly effortless.

GIRL?!?...... *growls*

Anyway, what size of Eygptain bowl are you using that a windcover won't fit on? I have a KM clay bowl from HC - it's HUGE, almost as large as my old Med Phunnel... and BOTH of my typical windcovers fit on them.

About making a cover out of a Monster BFC - be careful, many drinks coat the inside of the cans with varnish to prevent the liquid from eating into the metal, plus the heat may melt the paint on the outside as well. I am gonna re-try making my other windcover idea video this weekend.

I almost always use a windcover because I use less coal like shishaholic said. Juno, If you're so vain maybe you can pay a metal shop to fabricate one for you.

When I look at these things it reminds me of something I could have made in junior high metal shop class -- its rolled sheet metal with a few vents cut out and held together by a couple of spot welds. I'd really like to get a nice, ornate one that has a good handle and would fit over a phunnel bowl on a KM. It shouldn't be too difficult to commission somebody to make some Hookahpro.com windcovers (I would, but I don't know any junior high kids who pay attention in shop class).

The balancing act on top of tongs is eventually going to cause a tipping incident, and I don't think I have Larry's quick reflexes....

For my two KM's, I lay down coal tongs on the coal tray, then put the windcover ontop. Works like a charm!!!!

This would probably be the best way to go.

And yes, Bungle, I am very, very concerned with the looks of my hookahs.

Since I got a KM, my normal windcover isn't tall enough which pisses me off lol. Now, I just put the tongs under so then it is finally leveled with the bowl. It works like a charm.

Tried out the extra tall wind-covers.

They seem to do the job.
