Default Pakistani mu'essel

Recently I meet a Pakistani kid that a saw hauling around one of those padded bags that holds narghile stuff like what they sell at social smoke. I struck up a conversation with him and he gave me some mu'essel from Pakistan Qesuma (I think that the spelling is right but I am not certain) and I gave him some AF Plum that I had in my briefcase. Any way this stuff I got from him is very interesting in that it smells like the Drink Rooh Afza but it has Tamarind like quality to is as well. Anyone every heard of this Qesuma stuff or tried it? It has a dark brown colour that is pretty unusual for mu'essel and it is very sticky.

I have never seen, nor heard of this mu'essel. Let us know how it is flavor wise Hajo! The opportunity to try new mu'essel is awesome. Way to strike some conversation with the kid too.

A rooh afza moassel sounds great but Iíve never tried any. Where did you get it? Who makes it? For those of you that haven't heard Rooh Afza is a rose & citrus flavoured Sharbat ( a sweet syrup made with flower petals) that is pretty popular in India and Pakistan.

As to this Qesuma stuff I havenít had a chance to try it but I am looking forward to it. Thing is I know basically nothing about Pakistan but since India has literally hundreds of companies making tobacco products we canít get I wouldnít be surprised if the same is true in Pakistan.

Well I quickly googled Qesuma and I found nothing related with tobacco or shisha, so I don't know a thing about it, why don't you give it a shot and tell us how does it taste!? good luck with that man!

the moassel I'm reffering to is called "roo afza cool". It's made by Afzal. This brand doesn't get much love here, but folks need to keep in mind, Afzal is an Indian brand, and the moassel in India is much different from the mid-eastern or US manufactered products. While like most brands, afzal has some less than perfect flavors, they also have flavors that are quite good, imo.

Yeah I guess I am pretty lucky but most of the time I stop one one and they wind having Nakhla or AW rather then something cool so....

Anyways, I've been smoking this stuff and it's interesting although it doesn't really taste like it smells. Basically it has kind of a tamarind soda kind of flavour going but a bit more citrus like. While it is alright I don't think it's something i'll seek out.

Hey Abu, is the roo afza cool made by Soex or Afzal? Do you know where to get it?

Thanks for the tip Abu. I suppose I know where my next order is going to. By the way, the Germans have a syrup made from Linden flowers that is very sweet and it seems that it is some times put into beir I wonder if that flavour can be added to shisha? Linden is pretty fantastic but it's not exactly part of the Asian or Arabic world.

no problem. Linden sounds interesting. The problem w/adding syrups to tobacco, I would imagine is that if the syrup is sugar based, the sugars can effect the flavor when it burns.Ever smelled burnt sugar? Not too groovy!
