New Hookah Table

I haven't posted in over a year so why not come back with a bang.

My friends Will & Kelsey and I, decided to make a hookah table. We originally were looking for End tables at furniture outlets and goodwills but ended up with nothing good or within reasonable amount of money to mess with. We went to our local hardware store and bought all the wood and screws and blades to build it from scratch.

Once finished with the construction of the table, we went to Michaels Art's and Crafts and bought black interior paint and coated the table. Kelsey looked at the Social Smoke logo and drew a larger stencil of it. We put slots over the SS logos so it wouldn't get the cosmic look. We bought neon acrylic paint and flung it around to get the cosmic hookah style because my room is half dj/half hookah although its becoming more hookah. Then we removed the slots and bought a special marker for wood in silver and drew the logo from the stencil in the four corners. Too finish the hookah up, we sprayed a glow in the dark paint over the logos heavily and on the bottom shelf.

I recently tipped a 38 inch hookah and burnt three holes in my couch so I decided to have a little fun. We are hopefully going to make a second one but make it like a bar table for my ping pong room with hopefully cup holders and additional fun stuff and lighting.

The wood and a couple other things I either needed or didn't have was 53$ and the paint was $45 but I have enough paint for another table minus the black
So a total of 98$
Not to bad considering I didn't find a good table used and the outlet store we went to wasn't under 100$.

In all seriousness, I now wish to replicate this and have 2 or 3 sitting around the house... loved the OG one michaelsteele made but the SS logo and dat paint job is a nice touch. The black would also match with all the other furniture in my man-cave.
Ugh, want. I'm gonna make this my weekend project.

That is an awesome idea! I want to hopefully (inshallah) open a Hookah place in London and this idea seems great in making sure that Hookah's don't tip over a cause burns and breakages. All credit to you of course x

consider what you spent and the price to replace carpet, you came out well ahead. since i am off work tomorrow and then vacation next week, possible project for me to do.

That looks bad ass. I run a hookah bar, and we've been thinking of building some tables like this, but with a shelf higher up for the hookahs, seeing as we have 18-24 in hookahs.

The bottom shelf to the hole of the top is 1 foot 11 inches. My trimetal km not in this pic is 29 or 31 can't remember and we wanted to make sure it fit. Most my hookahs are 36+, and I have 9 all together. Only downside was my my social smoke magdy zidan there pro series hookah is to small. But everything else works great. We hug the stem toward the side were smoking so it can't move. I'm a massive social smoke fan so I wanted to incorporate there logo on my table.

I have to admit I like the design (not so much the paint job though, but to each their own). I may try this to give myself a table for sitting on my porch or deck.

This is my dj room and I have lasers and all sorts of lights so it was design for the room. When I make the next one its going to be more modern and sleek maybe use some brushed nickle

If you happen to make another one, definitely post it up! I think it'd be a good idea to put in another 3 or 4 legs in near the center to make shelves for the hookah. It could be a place to store shisha and smoke it. I love the idea, and you can easily expand from this basic model, but it definitely has a lot of appeal all by itself
