Question Wet Coals?

I ordered a box of exotica coals last week and they showed up yesterday. The usp guy left my box in the rain and the coals got completely soaked. I don't know if they are still usable or if they can be dried out, has this happened to anyone else? What can I do?

let them air out...take them out of the box so no water is trapped between the coals and let them sit out...a day or 2 should be enough, and then try to light one...i THINK with the heat, the little moisture that entered them should escape

Yeah airing them out for a few days is a good idea! Lol

But what is gonna suck is that you won't be able to smoke with these coals for a while

they actually got wet all the way through the outside packaging, into the actual product packaging and even past the plastic that cover the coals. It sounds more like they threw your package into a lake. hope it works out for you.

So I've started to air out the coals but the bottom layer has started to break down. The plastic wrap held some water in the bottom making a very messy black sludge.

Take out all of the coals and lay them out one by one on foil or a towel or something.

Because if you leave them all in the box...The coals are gonna get mushy

Roasting them could be good...
you don't want them to ignite though...
that sucks that your coals got wet

Wow, I wish I knew this when my bowl went to shit because my girlfriend put way too little tobacco in it leaving the coals lit and not even half way gone.. That would have saved me some coals.
