Default Big Rig = Big Smoke?

So what do you think about this, bigger the rig, thicker/bigger the clouds? i have a 27'' but im not satisfied w/ the smoke sometimes, i've considered about getting a bigger piece to get bigger smoke but im not sure if its true.

Yup yup it is very true. But the thing is, Ive had small hookahs and I've had massive amount of clouds come from those lil rigs.

It just comes down to heat management and the packing of the bowl when it comes to huge amount of clouds

honestly, i really dont think size matters. i got the biggest clouds out of an 18" hookah - brothers hookah i drilled holes into the stem to act like a defuser. massive clouds, easiest pull ever.

I have a 35" KM; the smoke out of it is no more thicker than the smoke produced from my 21" generic Egyptian hookah...or the smoke out my 14" MYA QT. As Jilly said...it really does come down to heat management.

One advantage of larger hookahs such as my KM is that I think you can taste the flavor of the shisha a lot more; and overall...the build of larger ones tends to be more sturdier and secure. But even with a sturdy build...size isn't always indicative of that.

It's not the size of the boat; rather the motion of the ocean.

Not too fond of the all black base. You couldn't see how thick the smoke is inside your base. I personally use the look of the smoke and the taste to know when it's gonna burn or getting too hot to actually smoke before blowing it all out of the release valve.

trevinator; you actually reminded me of a question i had concerning blowing smoke out from the vase through the release valve.

how often exactly should smoke be blown out from the release valve? whenever i smoke with friends; i have one friend in particular that constantly blows smoke out of the vase (whether it's a lot of smoke or not)...any negative(s) to the smoking session by blowing out the smoke so often?

Get a Razan or Nammor if your not going to get a KM. That will help out alot.

purging is a matter of personal preference, there is no time when you are supposed to do it. My preference is when I move my coals around, when the smoke starts to get hot or harsh, and if I haven't had a pull in a few minutes (just so I get rid of any stale smoke)

Once you get up to 28", most hookahs tend to perform the same, assuming you're setting up the bowl right and stuff. Big clouds is all about heat management/bowl setup.

i still can make big smoke come from little no name rigs too. i think cooler smoke can come from bigger hookahs.. more time for the ice to chill the smoke

My 15" random knock off chinese hookah (first hookah before i knew what the hell I was going lol) hits as big as my 35" KM. It's all about what you do or do not know about bowl packing, size and heat IMO

yea i have a lil 15 in hookah and then a 26 in hookah and sometimes i would get better when i sued to smoke the 15 in.. its just the set up its gotta be mechanical always the same do you get the same perfect huge clouds.. and the heat plays a major part even tho they may be the same brand shisha the cut may be a lil different and the wetness soo you have to heat accordingly..

sometimes there is a big difference when it comes to build quality, I have a 16 inch chinese QT-esque hookah for traveling, and it doesn't even hold a candle to my usual home hookah of a 32 inch KM on the rocks.

ive noticed i get the same smoke with my 22" as my friends 30"+ hookahs
the only difference i find is that with my 22" i get good flavour but with the bigger hookahs i get alittle less flavour but i can get a much much colder smoke

Thats a funny picture considering thats a pretty damn small peterbilt. Plus its from a few years back.

I have noticed once you hit the 30" mark its all about playing with heat, packing bowls, hoses.

As many of the others have said - it's heat management and the brand of tobacco. I have a 22" E that can outsmoke my 27" at times.
