I didn't think I would tell anyone this but here it goes... One day I was at the apartment by myself and the AC was out, so I decided to strip down while smoking. Well when the smoke got harsh I decided it was time to remove my homemade fool windcover. My tongs had fallen into the couch and I looked down and saw my underwear laying there. After some contemplation I decided it had to be done, so I used my underwear to remove the windcover... For the rest of the session. Wow it feels good to get that off my chest.

Nope, never done this. The fact that my right arm isn't heat sensitive is the reason I just use my hand to do so. It may be hot, but as long as I don't smell burning flesh I'm good.

I grabbed the windcover after I put on my bike riding gloves and got burnt and dropped the cover and scattered the coals on the carpet. I used my FINGERLESS bike gloves. <sigh>

Oh gosh! I have one of these stories! Lol, here goes - alone with my women one night and we started getting it AWNNNN! Then, I remembered I had my new Desi Murli loaded up in the Hookah; not wanting it to burn, I took the windcover off using the womens jeans. Now.....these were no ordinary jeans.....they were £180 jeans.......the WINDCOVER LEFT A FURICKIFIIIRN MARK!.......She didn't see, phew! Anyway... that was just the beginning. Whilst moving the windcover off with her jeans, SHE STARTS SCREAMING! SHE'S LIKE "AHHHHHHHHH!", I'M LIKE "AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" in the most highest pitch note! Then, everything slows down........the windcover tumbles, the coals get jolted and ONE OF THE COALS END UP ON HER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY POUND JEANS! OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG! SHE GRABS A BOTTLE AND THROWS IT ON MY FACE! I CALL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE! Lol, naa, I didn't call but she did throw the bottle and I did contemplate calling lol.

Well, after a severe bollocking, I have to go find her a new one. After about a week of search, I found the exact same pair and we all lived happily ever after......but not my wallet, never again....never again.

Yeah, my wind cover has a plastic knob/handle that doesn't get hot. I have reached around my wind cover and accidentally burnt the shit out of the inside of my forearm.

Ouch !! I can sympathise. I had a QL (I know I know but I had no nara's) explode and a chunk burnt into my ankle and I had to tear it off. That's was months ago and I still have a large scab on it, it just won't heal lol

Usually keep the tongs on the ash tray so they are easy to get too. However I have been known to use a sock from time to time.

I use a coffee can as a windcover. Tongs work just fine.

I literally always keep a gardening glove (just the right hand one) on the tea cup next to my computer table (Where is where I smoke 90% of the time) I've never suffered since, specially with the heavier Farida windcover (beautiful but heats up like a thousand infernos and is heavy enough that holding it without properly supporting it with your hands feels awkward) so yeah, gardening glove = ultimate solution, I'd recommend it.
