Default water in hoses

I tried searching to see if there was a thread about this already but didnt find anything so hopefully im not making a repeating thread. I have a mya tempest and i smoke using four hoses with my friends and it works great. However the other night i was smoking it and we were getting water from the hoses. Anyone know why?

you probably have too much water in the base, it's being sucked into the hoses when it's bubbling.

What Philip said.

Make sure you blow through and hang up your hoses. Water in a hose can spell bad times for all.

Yeah this is what I was going to say, you only want the down stem to be a half inch or so under the water.

Yeah, base has too much water. Also hang the hose ends so all the water drips out. The hose will start to corrode if it is not a washable hose.

Water expands when it freezes...

More likely the ice floating on top was helping to break the bubbles before they popped on the surface of the water and splashed up near the hose ports.

I usually like to make a small mark to indicate where to fill to. It helps get consistant results.

Mya stems are too short for my liking requiring too much water in the base, you can either extend the stem with some plastic tubing or just get some brass tubing the same diameter and cut it to what ever length you like and just use a die to put the same thread on it.
