Default Turkey

Hey guys,
This night, I'm going to have a journey to Turkey. I'll stay there for 10 days, and I want to buy really good hookah. First, I wanted to ask, can I hope to get KM there? If no, can you recommend me something good?
By the way, Khalil Mamoon - how do I need to say it? Mamoon: 2 o's like mOOn, or like Orange? ;]]]

Like always, sorry for my poor English...

dont buy nakhla there!!! i heard of two different guys, who've been in two different parts of the country. they bought nakhla there and it was just sawdust ... nakhla in turkey = fake!
you have to go to the city and buy Serbetli (dont name it serbetli, say sherbetli (-> Şerbetli). its one of the best oriental brands of shisha you can get! i love it

unfortunately i dont know where to buy it :/
but if you stay in a city, you can get it in coféshops or tobacco stores. if you are in a special tourist area, you should get it there too.
just ask the ppl there

edit:
if you like mint-flavors, you should try the serbetli mint, its the most intensive mint tobacco i ever smoked!
also good flavors: banana, cherry, strawberry and cappuccino

Serbetli is really good stuff, especially the black flavours they make. As to narghiles I's say that you should try to get a super heavy, all brass, machined rig. They typically are made by small shops and cost a bit more but are worth 10 time what they charge. Usually the glass isn't that great but you can easily get a mail ordered base of excellent quality else where without much work. I'd suggest not bothering with the locally made leather hoses because you can't wash them. Make one from food grade plastic tubing instead.

Sadly no KM there...but I'm almost positive they'll have rigs that might even be better than KM's.

Dang I've always wanted to try Serbetli...I hope it gets to the States sometime soon

I'm sure you will find traditional/great hookahs there. After all, Turkey is the place where they modernized the Hookah centuries ago.

Maybe you might find a Syrian!

some news:
ive asked a friend (turkish origin) and he said you should just look at the bazars there. or ask someone in the city he said everyone knows, where to buy tobacco and can advise you stores to buy it ...

but be careful (lithuania is EU, right?): you are just allowed to bring 250g to lithuania (every person, older than 17 can bring 250g)

I never got checked for tobacco (shishia only as i dont smoke/buy cigs) in airport. It seems like they cant really recocnize shisha through their x-rays or smthing... i've had up to a kilo in my bag without any probs.
