not worth it. I'd probably take the train, if there is one.

Haha.

My best friend lives down there, so visiting would have been a good idea.

I doubt that they will have an orange smell or taste. Most of the moisture (i.e. essential oils) evaporate when charcoal is made. If this were not true I doubt people would enjoy olive wood coals as much as they do...

The coals finally arrived at my doorstep. The box had no battle scars, which is a huge surprise considering FedEx delieverd the package. I ordered these yesterday, the twenty third, too. This isn't surprising considering the fact that I live forty minutes from Hookah Company.

They came in an ornate looking bag that I will definitly use again.

Shit was so cash.

They felt dense in my hand and looked like real coals, not black twigs. Thankfully, the largest pieces had nice seams running through them that would enable me to break the coal into managable sizes. I am excited to try these out at work now.

They came in three sizes.

1. Large lumps of coal no bigger than my fist. They were easily broken into perfect sized lumps. I could get at least six pieces out of these fuckers.
2. Medium pieces that would break in half for the ideal size.
3. Perfection.

I have yet to try these, but I must say I am deeply dissapointed already.

I was expecting to get blasted in the face with an orange smell upon opening the bag, but instead I was shot at with dissapointment.

I just smoked Nahkla Orange using these coals. I must say I am most impressed.

Breaking up the large pieces was easy. All I had to do was jab the coals a little with my tongs and I had good sized pieces.

Their longevity blew me away, to be quite frank with you. The coals I first started using are still glowing, albiet at a much smaller size. I should probably put those out since I am about to head out.

They gave off no taste, so I could enjoy my Nahkla while listening to Om Kolthom tell the tale of Alif Leila wa Leila, or One Thousand and One Nights.

Flakes of ash were not much of an issue, but it was still there, so I made sure to clean up the relatively small mess left by Saalaam coals.

Of course like any other bulk charcoal, it's best to heat these up in an open area because there will be some sparks flying, but nothing huge. They're more on par with quicklights in this manner.

The only downside is the fact that they don't smell like oranges. I was pissed, but I'm willing to let that one slide.

How's the heat on them, and how long do you think they'll last?

Of course smaller pieces will die out quickly, but the larger ones lasted me a good hour and a half. One piece was still burning after two hours.

It takes three medium-sized pieces (think a quarter of an Exotica) to get Nahkla smoking well.

Do these give off good heat like exoticas? Cuz my SB coals don't give off great heat and it pisses me the hell off! lol but these sound like pretty good coals.

BTW I read your disappointment about them not smelling like oranges. I believe that they are coals made from orange WOOD not actual oranges lol.

I got some of these in on Wed. There not to bad actually. They do stink a bit but no taste while smoking. I got like 4 HUGE peices in my bad that im gonna have to break down into smaller bits but the rest are pretty much perfect sized.

They do last for a good bit of time!!

Exoticas give off too much heat if you ask me.

These are just right. I performed a heat test with my hands, and nine out of ten doctors agree it was the right temperature to char my hands.

P.S. - The orange coals smelling like oranges is just a drawn out joke, by the way.
