Default Changing Hookah Tobacco

Hey Everyone. Maybe my title wasnt clear, but my question is this:
Lets say that I have my hookah going all day long, and I smoke different flavors each time and I don't clean the hookah or change the water. What has been everyones experience as far as any residual flavors that might distort the next batch of tobacco? Is it normal to clean a hookah after each type of flavor smoked?

I don't clean my hookah after every session, maybe every 4-5. The only nasty flavor fusion pulls are in the beginning, for maybe a minute, then it's all whatever i'm smoking.

I give it a quick cleaning after each session, and a nice beer shakedown every week.

I usually don't clean my hookah after every session. Maybe after a few bowls. But ugh, I'm trying to make it a habit now since my KM is brass cored and that nasty green gunk always turns up after smoking 2 or more bowls.

I usually change the water every session as well.

Oh, and when I get the chance, I always wad up a piece of thick paper towel, cover it in tooth paste, and then send it down the stem.

Gets all the funk out of the junk.

Yup, brass is the only metal that I know of that starts forming green gunk.

So yeah, your KM Exotica is absolutely brass cored

Idk why, but I love cleaning the hookah out as much as I can. Idk...I guess it just gives me this feeling of "clean smoke" I guess

I freaked the fuck out when I saw green coming out of my On-the-Rocks.

Now I know it's just the way it is...

I clean my hookah after every session, but not the traditional way. I run a wad of wet paper towel down the stem, followed by a wad of dry paper towel. I also swirl and pour out the water after every session. I clean the stem and base the traditional way once a week. There really isn't much difference between the first method and the second taste wise.

i would just rinse out my bowl.. soo the juices dont mix.. but other then that you dont have to clean it after every use but after you do smoke all that in a day i would clean it at the end of the day with some lemon juice and baking soda you will see all the crap come out of the stem..

the clean the living crap out of it every session. make sure when i look through the stem it looks polished and shiny, with no visible grim deposits. clean the bowl. i leave the water unless i overpacked and something leaked down.

I clean most every time, at very least a good rinse. But that is because I take my hookah to a few different places and need to pack it up. Otherwise I clean it once a day or every couple days. Depends on where I leave it. Really strong flavors will bleed through into the next session. I suggest planning out your night. Do light flavors moving into strong. If you plan out complimentary flavors it can work out well if you do duals.get resi

I usually rinse mine daily, so one or two smokes between rinse outs. I clean it well a couple of times a week, but that's just my preference, I used to not clean it out very often at all, and it was fine. However if you are using strong flavors there can be residual flavors for say, the first quarter of your next session, but rinsing takes care of that, and sometimes it can enhance the flavor (HH Spearmint and Rose tend to linger).

My only problem is cleaning out the hose.

I pour some beer down the hose and swirl it around for a few minutes.

Copper and aluminum will also form green "gunk"

at least wash the bowl and blow it out, your going to have flavors left over, the only really way to combat it will be with changing water and a rinse/wash of the stem. you can probably get by with just washing the bowl and using a more robust flavor (starting with a light fruit, then maybe a heavy fruit flavor, then something like vanilla or coffee flavor etc)
