Default less heat=harsh smoke??

is it normal for LESS heat to cause the smoke to be MORE harsh??
cause everything tells me the opposite but just about every time i smoke, if the smoke gets thin and harsh, i add a quarter of a quicklight and the smoke all of a sudden gets smooth and thick.

Using the Mya Qt with the bowl of a pumpkin hookah because its better than the mya bowl.
2 layers of normal reynolds foil

the smoke could be harsh because theres ash that has fallen into the bowl

my friend has the same hookah and kinda had the same problem heres what u do, just take half the coal, and split that in half and put those 2 halves on each side. For the QT u need alot less heat for it to get going

no 2 sheets get amazing smoke, thats what im trying to say with LESS heat, i get harsh smoke but if i add another 4th of a quicklight, THEN i get HUGE clouds.

im not using the mya bowl on the qt so its not all heat sensitive

im not complaining at all, i was just asking if its normal to have HARSH smoke with LESS heat and nice, thick, smooth smoke with MORE heat because usually its the exact opposite

Might be the quicklight. Try some natural coals, I have found using the quicklights can leave a harsher taste then naturals and sometimes they burn the shisha instead of cooking it. Otherwise typically the less the smoke the less the harshness, I think it might just be the coals your using.

it could just be that the less heat is making parts of the shisha bake while others not but with the extra heat all the ingredients are baking correctly

dont ask questions just smile and nod

Could be coals - QL's cook differntly than naturals.
Could be brand of tobacco - drier brands like more heat, not enough and you get no smoke.
Could be your brand of foil is thinner, thus why you need 2 layer (or rather are using).

Could be anything - normally, the less heat the less smoke = less harsher. Adding more heat allows the shisha to cook correctly and produces the normal amount of smoke - too much heat produces harsh/hot smoke and can burn.

But, as long as your getting it to work, it works. Trying to explain it could jinx is

I am not sure what you are doing wrong but harshness is a symptom of excessive heat. My guess is that you have not properly packed your bowl or your heat management method needs work.

idk, to the OP i had similar issues recently with having little coal and harshness, not really sure why, but i think i only really noticed it as the coals died out and probably just made it a little harsh from being hot over all, hmmmm i cant remember now if when i started out with to little if it did it or not

ive had some tobaccos react this way.

also some coals when they ash over, develop sulfur deposits on the ash (nour coals specifically) and inhaling that makes it seem extra harsh.
