It's not availiable in the US yet. It's an unflavored moassel similar to al nakhla zahgloul or plain Salloum. This is one of the flavors I've been waiting on for a while. Very good from what I hear.

*sigh* I am on a quest to try every flavor of AF and this is another to add to my list.

I haven't tried any of the other stuff that abu has compared the soft black to, does anyone else have a good description?

Plain unflavored pipe tobacco. You only taste the flavors of the leaves used to make the mix. Comparable to regular pipe tobacco or cigar but wet with molasses for hookah. PM me your addy and I will send you a sample of the plain Salloum. It is quite good actually, but then I enjoy cigars and briar pipes.

I'm interested in trying AF Cigar and AF Soft Black. AF Pipe tastes like cocoa. It's very good but doesn't taste like pipe tobacco. If you want to try unflavored try Nakhla Zaghloul. You're supposed to smoke Zagh. without foil but when mixed with a little honey, it can work with the foil.

Here is a link to an article from Hajo Flettner on smoking traditional tobaccos. He even goes into detail on the hole pattern to use on the foil, which you always want to use with any of the traditionals. This includes Salloum, AF black, Zaghloul etc etc. If you have any questions about bowl set-up or smoking tips regarding old world shisha I would recommend you send him a PM here. Abu Ronin is also a big traditional fan and would be happy to answer PMs. Sorry Abu, throwing you under the bus.

Thanks for posting the link to the article Kwikwi. I am a huge fan of Soft Black and think it's the best product that Al Fakher ever put out out. I have a photo of it on my gallery - http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/kk230/HFlettner/

It's pretty good if you like Turkish style moassel. It's unwashed, Iranian tobacco with a medium cut with a strong fruit/molasses taste and a clear tobacco aftertaste. I'd rather smoke Soft Black but it's certainly good.
