When you use honey it's called tobamel rather then shisha. But your right, making anything we smoke is about balance so it's basically like cooking or making ale.

honey is a great way to smooth the edges on a nasty shisha.

It depends on what you're trying to do if your making your own tobamel from scratch then you should read the article I posted on making your own shisha/tobamel. If you just want to add some to something you've got but is too dry that is another matter. Basically, in the case of the later i'd go with about a teaspoon per 20 grams and mix it well. For the most part I think honey works better with more robust but overly dry shisha that lacks a strong secondary flavour like fruit/spices/coffee or what have you.

Well, I was thinking of adding a little to my Nakhla, since it is a little on the dry side..?

For Nakhla i'd recommend half a teaspoon of honey and and a quarter teaspoon of glycerine per 20grams of shisha.

I think a teaspon for a full large bowl is too much. The honey will cover the taste of the shisha. Honey for harsh shisha is great. It smoothens the taste and makes it sweeter and less harsh.
WARNING. Too much burns your throat.
I use it with nahla capuccino and the result is awesome. If you have some coffee flavoured shisha and some bee honey you have to try it. For a medium bowl, I put a bit more than 1/2 teaspoon. But those things are preference so work it out yourself

he said half teaspoon, which isn't all that much.

I've added a lot to some coconut al waha because I thought it tasted terrible, definately smoothed out the flavor a lot.

Thanks for reminding me, I got a sample of some coffee and a tub of al amir mocha latte that I need to take the edge off. If I had glycerine, I'd just mix up a batch in a mason jar and pressure cook it.

Don't pressure cook it. It will drive off the aromatics and, as a result, a lot of the flavour.

even if its kept in a closed mason jar? I'd probably keep it at 15psi for 10-15 minutes

I guess that at some point the pressure could be low enough to not be a problem but I think that often less is more and with tobacco any aromatic loss is bad.

with nahkla (250g's) I use about 30ml of Glycarin and about 5ml of honey.

I find the honey takes that 'glycarin' taste right off and works well with
nahkla's natural oily texture.

Good mix - doesn't affect the taste too much and allows a real good smoke.
