Default Ginseng Shisha?

Has anyone ever had ginseng shisha? I really like the taste of a drink I make which consists of ginseng, green tea, and honey. Do you know if anyone makes something like that? Or should I make my own?

I’ll use ginseng and green tea in place of tobacco in equal parts. Then add the other ingredients. Good idea or bad?

I've heard of Green Tea, Tangiers. But I'm not sure if it's readily available.

Don't smoke tea. If you're going to make your own tobamel, just make a strong tea with the ginseng and green tea, use that instead of water to soak your tombac.
Make the tea very strong. 5x how you would normally make it.

Oolong/wulong ("black dragon tea") is the same tea as green tea and black tea- green tea is not fermented/oxidized, black tea is fully oxidized, and wulong cha is somewhere in the middle- partially but not fully oxidized.
I think either one, with or without additional ginseng, would be good-

as far as honeys go, clover honey or orange blossom honey tend to be mild. If you want a pronounced honey taste, something like buckwheat or goldenrod might be good.

gallberry honey and tupelo honey both smoke well.

good luck, and let us know how it comes out

Sounds good bro. I’ll use Teo Chew tea, which is an extremely powerful green tea from my grandparent’s hometown. And looks like clover/orange blossom honey is the one to go.

I’ll start when I get back to college.

I make home made mu'assels from rooibos tea. Like it was said make a very strong tea and soak/wash your tobaccos with it. I use the rooibos in the mix, with dried fruit softened and mashed and honey as a agglutinate. It's real sweet

There's a recipe around here somewhere for a tea shisha. Try searching for that and that could give you some pointers. Good luck, let us know how it turns out!

So I decided on this recipe. I didn’t make it yet since I’m not back in school yet.

4 tablespoons of American Spirit tobacco, I’ll boil it multiple times until the water is clear. Then I’ll boil it with a very strong tea made with ginseng and green tea in equal parts. I’ll boil it until much of the excess water has evaporated. The tobacco will still be moist, and should by then smell like ginseng and green tea. Then I’ll add 2 tablespoons of clover honey. Then 3 tablespoons of food grade glycerin. Then I’ll empty a tea bag of green tea, and a teabag of ginseng tea in the pile. Then I’ll mix it until it obtains a “shisha-like” consistency. Marinate for 24 hours in an open tupperware tub. Then store it airtight.

How’s that for a recipe?

May I ask where or how did you learn the proper pronunciation of those teas? It's weird to see someone not butcher it lol. I am Chinese and can hardly ever spell out a word in Chinese.

Tangiers has red tea, green tea, and green tea with honey. but ginseng is more so used as an added ingredient for it's beneficial properties, not taste. it's pretty bitter and dirt-shit tasting. my advice would be to try one of the Tangiers' flavors listed above lol

After the wet mix is added to the tobacco, I usually bake at 175 for 90 minutes at least twice, mix in between and add more molasses/honey, then after the last bake add the glycerin

The best way I've found is to squeeze the extra moisture from the soaked tobacco, mix in your molasses, spread it out on a foil-lined cookie sheet, then bake in the lowest temp your oven will allow for about an hour and a half or so.

Remove from the oven, allow to cool a bit, use a rubber scraper to put the tobacco back into the bowl, mix in your flavoring oils, glycerine, and a bit more molasses if needed.

Put the mixture back on a foil-lined baking sheet, and bake again for an hour or so.

Allow to cool, remove to a sealed container, and allow to rest for a few days before smoking.

Tip: It's a good idea to keep a bowl of water next to the bowl you're mixing in. Wet your fingers to keep the tobacco from sticking.
