Hajo, i wish i could get some of my friends to read this. I figured this out the hard way.. and yet my friends still don't get that always pulling big clouds is the reason why they get burned out so quick, and the reason, i assume, that they prefer starbuzz over other brands.. because of the makeup of the shisha.

I have learned to slow it down, but as a few people have said.. you can't help the occasional huge cloud.. But either way, great advice as always

PS. I also hate that hookah gets lumped in with the glass shops, as some previously stated. I hate having to those kinds of shops to get shisha/hookahs, which is completely different from everything else they sell.

My son is home from school and he had a few friends over today and they were smoking my 2 KM's using whatever shisha they wanted to use, Tangiers lucid, Nakhla, SB. Anyway I use Coco's and they were using phunnel bowls, broke one, anyway I left went to the movies came back a good three+ hours later and they were still smoking. They know how to smoke but my point is my son had the worst headache he's ever had and it has to be CO poisoning. When you're not used to smoking like I am and have a marathon for probably close to 4 hours you will get sick. I was very concerned, he never does more than an hour tops and rarely smokes at all and he's feeling better after like 4 advil over a period of 3-4 hours but I was worried for a while. Anyway the hookah lounge is closed to them unless I'm around and only for one or two bowls tops with no tricks. But he learned a lesson like we all have and he wont be doing any marathons in the near future. I have never got a headache from a natural coal yet but I have from QL's in the beginning doing my own marathons but too much of any coal can cause this I guess. I also think Starbuzz does it because every headache I ever had was when using QL's and SB during the hours of smoking.

Awesome post Hajo. Hookah is definitely becoming more and more popular each day, whenever it comes up in casual conversation with new friends i always try to give little hints here and there about how a hookah is meant to be enjoyed without seeming like an arrogant know-it-all. To all of us on here, this seems like common sense, but to some people it's just unheard of. All we can do is spread the knowledge and word up our favorite hobby

Glad you guys like the post. Basically what we need to do is ween the narghile scene away from the hipster type thinking because that results in turning a great tradition into just another stupid thing to show off at parties which also makes it susceptible for use as way to smoke substances that I assume we all want nothing to do with.

I also think that the reckless use of moaasel by the "cloud makers" has pretty negative health consequences that can lead to even more bans on our hobby. Every time some idiot hoovers his rig for hours on end up passing out countless more idiots claim that moassel is dangerous and needs to be banned. Also, when people get sick and feel like crap after smoking they obviously don't want to smoke any more and tell everyone how horrible it is.

If people learn to smoke properly they don't get sick, they enjoy the tastes more and in the end they may end up learning something about the hobby.

The guy behind the counter was talking with two guys that sounded like bevis and butthead and the three of them were putting sanford grill coals on to some junky chinese rig. Needless to say I left very quickly and purchased nothing.
Yikes. I would have gotten out of there just as quick.
