Default Second Hand Hookah

I tried searching the forums for any topic concerning this.
So my friend lit up a cig (a 27 for those whom it may concern) in the car and I was having a hard time breathing and I had an epiphany. What about hookah smoke? Is it dangerous at all? I know it shouldn't be because it's no where near as harsh as breathing through second hand stog poison but I'm just concerned for the guest that don't smoke hookah at my casa who are around when I am smoking hookah. Anyone know if its a bad thing to smoke around these no-smokers? Thanks in advance.

well i smoke both and i find cigs are harsher regardless of the brand. on top of that the high number of harmful additives can do more to ruin your lungs. i've also noticed that choking on cig smoke is a lot more painful than hookah smoke. then again the means of smoking are also different.

btw if you guys haven't noticed already, anti-smoking ads are now starting to include hookahs. i find it to be BS but anti-smoke advocates have to ruin everyone's day.

I haven't seen any anti-tobacco ads featuring hookahs..yet..I hope to never see them though. I wonder how they would try to make it look "evil" ?

i think the chemical that causes 2nd hand smoke occurs when tobacco is actually combusted. so i dont think this is the case with hookah. i may be wrong

Scoop I was about to say that.

Simply, with cigarettes you burn the tobacco, along with the paper it is wrapped in, plus many additives (some sources say it includes pesticides).

With hookah, tobacco is heated, and to a reasonable degree (around 100 C/212 F), water - especially when room temperature or colder - is useful in catching heavy minerals and let them sediment in the water.

So in other words, I believe its second hand smoke is much less harmful

My grandma has been smoking since she was 16, she's in her 70s now and no cancer. My other grandma who wouldn't allow anyone to smoke in her house, never picked up a cigarette, and couldn't stand anyone smoking in her presence got lung cancer. Go figure?

Theres the point! What Liszt says is true. As in everything, we are not the same. Someone likes things, other no. And it's the same with cancer too. Someone is liable to get it, others not. U can't figure it out, if somebody had a cancer in ur family, than u will have too ... But inheriting genes is an important fact too.
