Default Flavor Problems?

So, I'm fairly new to hookah and I smoked a bowl of Layalina Black Grape and wasn't really getting a very good flavor out of it. So I packed another bowl of Layalina Fruit Special and was getting a better flavor but I once again wasn't getting a very good flavor. I used two japanese coals and two sheets of Reynolds Heavy Duty aluminum foil. Am I doing something wrong or is it just the cheap shisha?

Use one sheet of foil. When you had the Fruit Mix your bowl was most likely warmed up and so it smoked better then before.

I've never been a real big Layalina fan. That being said, check for air leakage and try maybe one more coal.

Great, thanks! Is there a brand out there that will give me more flavor?

Try Layalina pomegranite, if you're still getting horrid flavor than it's not the tobacco, although layalina has been known for some sub-par flavors =(

I would shoot for some Starbuzz, a very flavorfull brand of sheesh. And white peach is a good one. I have heard good things about blue mist aswell..

What i do is use 1 sheet of tinfoil, poke 12 holes, (i do a 3X3 square, with a 2X2 square inside that), and use either 1 quicklight coal, or 2 stovetop coals.

Make sure to pack the bowl nice and fluffy, and try not to pack it down.

Also keep the coal around the edge, until you have moved it around the whole bowl, then bring to center, makes the bowl last longer, and not so harsh.

Layalina isnt bad but it is kinda light on flavor for some of them, or at least just not powerful flavors. the mint and chocolate though are good

for others starbuzz is good, af can be good the new stuff didnt live up to the hype (i never got to try af in its glory days). nakhla is good from what ive tried, tangiers if you can get it to acclimate and pack it will is good also.

just use 1 layer of HD, make sure you have space between the foil and shisha, maybe try another coal. i know on the glass screens jap style coals dont work well so maybe try other coals
