Default Battle of the non quickstarts!

So out of the three coal brands I currently use...Exotica, Coco Nara and Al Awa'el, which brands have anyone had the best or worst experiences with and why.

Exotica's have always been my coal of choice. Coco Naras I don't care for.

I like coconara they leave no flavor, heat well, and last long. But they take a while to light. The Al Awa'el coals are a bit fragile. I noticed a little bit of taste but it was less than anything I ever got from a QL. They did tend to break easily while ashing. And for exoticas....I tried a few sticks that I got from a friend. They kinda splintered while heating so when I went to ash them they broke. And for their size they did not heat as well as other coals. Maybe I got a bad batch...well now there is another issue with em Bad batches have been reported. Some with like twist ties and crap stuck in the coal itself!

I use CH coals. I'm too lazy to score and break Exoticas, and I used to use Pharaohs coals (identical to Exoticas but they were pre-cut) but they would crack when lighting and break apart too easily. CH coals are rock solid, never break.

i use exoticas and ccns. i just ordered 4 boxes of ccns so thats what i will be using until about xmas, i like exoticas because they didnt spark like the cocos but i like the low ash, no light up smell, no scoring and longer burn of the cocos so they have won out for now.

never tried the other brand
