your sing quick lights right? a lot of quick lights burn in 15-25 mins, natural coals will last 50-90 mins depending on type and how you use them

unless you're sambooka. his videos usually big clouds, and he says the flavor is good... maybe it's just time to learn the PERFECT method
It's a trade secret Sambooka puts dry ice in his mouth (please don't try this at home!!! ) it's not possible to get so much smoke from a hookah! How does he do it?

When I try to recover my burned shisha I just usually blow on it until I see no smoke coming out of the bowl, it may take a while but it works for me and saves me some shisha.

And samibebe what kind of coal do you use? I usually get a good 45+ mins with my coconaras.

But my last smoke they died kinda fast because I was chain hitting like a muhhhfukka, and I left them on the burner to long because I was caught up with some ufc 2009 undisputed. lol

I always use SB, and pull the leaves apart and i havent had a hard time getting fatty clouds, with great taste. And my stock bowl lasts about 1-1.5 hours every time, b/f any harshness. =]
anybody can get good clouds with starbuzz, no offence.

someone needs to teach me how to get good clouds from non-mizo nakhla. then i wil be happy.

yeah, you burn and you learn is my exact sediments this past week after changing foil brands, it's about twice as thick as what Im use to, so if I only use one coal it bearly starts, but I rarly ever use more so... needless to say I burn the hell out of every bowl I smoke trying to find the right balance for all my diff bowls...

if you just pulled it off the brink that comes in the box then thats part of your problem too, i pulled it off the brick at first and got little clouds, if you mix it up you get good clouds

I use a medium Egyptian bowl and get decent clouds with Nakhla. Here is how I do it.

Play with your Nakhla before you smoke it to get ALL stems out and to get the leafs broke up. Do not PACK it in. Sprinkle it and level it.
1 coal
1 layer foil
1 hole in center (all the way through)
6 to 8 holes halfway between center and rim (toothpick size)
Windcover as needed

The clouds are not enormous but the flavor is very nice.

As PL said, and I quote

no need to pull stems out, i never do and it smokes fine. if you can manage your heat you shouldnt get issues

I could hide in some of the clouds I've gotten from Nakhla while preserving flavor.

Pack Nakhla like Tangiers, like John does. Pack it down, nice & tight & hard in the bowl. Long sessions, great flavor & better clouds. Not f-off clouds or anything, but still very nice clouds.

^^ This, although I don't quite pack it "hard" into the bowl. I build up a mound of tobacco and scoop with the bowl. Then I use a fork and pack it around until it is slightly above the inner spire. If I have to pack it in relatively hard and it sponges back, I take out some tobacco.

This is the same way I pack Tangiers and get similar clouds with the exception of using more heat (3 CH QLs for Nakhla with a small phunnel and wind cover compared to 2-3 CH QLs or 4 Canary Goldens for Tangiers). Air flow is key, and I've found the holes over the center spire have a big impact on how it smokes. I use a crap ton of evenly spaced holes in double layered regular Reynolds foil. The holes are probably ~1/16" diameter spaced ~1/8" apart across the entire foil.

One small phunnel bowl packed this way will last me 2-3 rounds of charcoal.

Last night i got the best clouds and flavor ive ever had. It was with Nakhla Double Apple. I went to the shisha store and bought a brand new box, then i opened it and put it in the vortex bowl, with about 1-2mm of room to breathe. For coals i had two Akhla Quicklights. Im not sure why, but the flavor was amazing, more so than SB or anything. The clouds were crazy too, and i never ashed or moved the coals too, just both at opposite side of the bowl. 1 layer of HD foil, nothing special.

1-2 mm from the rim? isnt the vortex supposed to be packed up to the holes or is that just how people have started packing it since its so big. i do plan on getting one when i get my new rig soon (hopefully) looks like a good idea and figure i might as well try it out
