Default shisha and allergies

Alright I have a question for all of you, if someone is allergic to something, lets say chocolate, and then they smoke a chocolate flavored shisha will they have an allergic reaction? I'm not allergic to anything but some of my friends are so I want to know so I can plan accordingly.
-thanks

It's been discussed before. I think it depends on the shisha.

you can be more prone to allergies when smoking, your nasal passage and sinus will get dried out from the smoke and makes you more easily irritated from the smoke

I don't think he's worried about actual allergies but an allergic reaction.

My cousin is allergic to oranges so I steer clear of anything that might have oranges in it (fruit mixes, orange, etc) to make sure her throat wont close up and you know, and the possibility of death doesn't ensue.

So, i wouldn't risk it.

its really had to say, depending on the shisha it could be a chemical flavoring or a natural one, even ones that are totally different flavors could have something in them that the person is allergic to. best bet would be to contact the manufacture and say you need to avoid allergy x, y, z and they should be able to tell you what if any need to be avoided, if they cant/wont help you then just give them the finger.

i have a friend with sever pollen allergies to the point he cannot eat any honey (gets very sick to his stomach, so i know if he ever smokes hookah with me starbuzz is off the table

If you have anyone smoking with you with a known allergy, do not usy any shisha that might have that flavoring. It may not strictly be necessary, but the reality is if they get a reaction, the first way you're going to find out is them not being able to breathe..it's not like they'll get a rash on their hand, they will have lung and throat problems! Do'n't chance it, there are plenty of other flavours in the sea.

well it really depends on the reaction they have when they eat it, just because they get sick to their stomachs doenst mean they will have any respiratory distress from it, and im not even sure if they would get sick.

i still would stray from the shishas with the item in them but if it is a stomach issue it may not hit them at all

also if the only info you can get of a flavoring is "natural" and/or "artificial" you probably want to stray from that because a lot of those have things in them that the person using them dont even know

as to something like chocolate i had a friend that when we were little had a chocolate allergy but he just got a basically allergies you would expect from pollen or cats, so the level/type of allergy is also a factor here (but i would be willing to bet the chocolate shishas do not have chocolate in them just a flavoring but dont even think of using that as your answer)

Interesting thing about that cigarettes cause my throat to scratch and swell, my eyes to water, and if I am in an enclosed place where a lot of smoking goes down it will make me need to throw up. But a cigar, pipe, hookah, or even cloves or cigarillos are no problem.

The main thing is my sister in law is allergic to smoke (if it is a fairly rare allergy she has it and it isn't just the irritation that most people have (which reacts the same as most allergies but isn't truly an allergy)). I just wondered if she could even be around it.

maybe, it is really different than any other "smoke" though.

that is more of a sensitivity than an allergy. and as to why the cloves let you smoke them its because the cloves have a chemical naturally in them that numbs your throat.

Yeah man, if anyone has a severe allergy like that (strawberries are notorious) it's good to have an epi nearby.

That explains why when I smoke them I can be around other people smoking Marlboros which seem to be the worst for me to be around. For me it is an additive to cigarettes that gets me cause for most people if it is tobacco then cigars would get them and they really really don't get me at all.

No now that is the really odd part. I love the smell of Marlboros more than most cigarettes I just start with eyes watering scratchy sometimes swollen throat. It sucks cause they by far smell better to me than others.
