Default noob with charcoal question

hello everyone,
A little introduction of myself...
My name is Amir Joakim...Iranian...19yrs old...
quick question...I have the exotica charcoal and I burn them on the stove for a few minutes untill they are fully burned, but when I put them on the hookah they lose the flame and turn black...any advice on what I should be doing? sometimes it hits well, sometimes it just dries up really quickly...any input would be appreciated!

exotica coals are the best imho. I definitly know what your talking about though with them losing heat when you first put them on the bowl. When i heat them up on the stove i turn them after a little bit and make sure that all 6 sides are red hot. after i get the bowl smoking a little bit i will turn the coals to be on a different side. after a couple rounds of this the coals will stop losing heat and work really well

Just wait until the coals are hot and completely ashed over. Switch to ************* QL's and you won't have this problem.

They look like they lose the heat on the bowl, but it's still there..
Just smoke it, and you'll see the coals light up during the draw.

When the coals ash over on the bowl, take them off and knock off the ash, then put back and continue.

just make sure they are fully ashed before you take them off the heat. most of the coals look like they lose heat or go out some what but they should be fine. i used exoticas for a while but ive started to use coconaras more, they work better for me and are less hassle but they are a little higher priced (but i think over all they are the same or cheaper since they last much longer in my experiences)

This sounds very unnecessary (probably spelled wrong ) ..
Just flip them on the stove so all sides get hot. then when u put them on ur bowl wait a few minutes so the bowl gets hot. then start drawing some.. then after maybe 10 mins u take of the coal, ash them off and blow alittle then back on the bowl and their fine..

btw prznskillz, nice to see another persian brotha on the forum! welcome

well im kind of unsure of exactly what your doing (you said lighter but do you mean like a flame or a torch lighter). i started using a big bernsomatic torch and it was a pain still, the coil burner you can set it and then go set up, much easier to me

Im not saying u should put the coals back on the stove ..
U are probably lighting them on the stove right? thats what I meant.. while u are lighting them the firts time ust flip them over some.. U dont ened to put them back on the stove ever
But if u meant u didn't even light them on the stove then I dont know what u mean.. Only way I know of lighting a coal ( a good way ) without stove ( naturals ) is with some kind of flame torch like dmc the crazy ass ... check out his vids on youtube if u wanna see for ur self.. like a construction worker or something.. lol

no i light them with a lighter till i get a corner lit then i take a hair dryer to it till it gets red hot all the way around it worked much faster then when i used to use my stove and i didnt have to walk all the way upstairs either but if its better to use a stove then i might just invest in another to light my coals

if that is faster then your stove is broken, with an electric stove on high it should take 5-10 mins, if its a flat top thats why and dont try that again it is bad for the stove

Getting a single coil burner may be a good move at this point.
