the setup in important, and it could have just been that you needed to replace the coals..... make sure you mix up the sheesha a bit before you take it out and load the bowl so you get adequate juices.

This is one of the most powerful SB flavors out there, too sweet for me to take. You may need more heat, or you need to give all your setup a nice cleaning.

i had the same issue, its your heat. it needs very little, you may not get huge clouds with proper heat but there will be a lot of taste. one quick light on a small-med egyptian should work. i use 2 coconaras on a mod bowl and let it get going kinda slow.

if you get the heat right it is a very very powerful flavor, and a little to much heat the flavor is gone. it wont taste exactly like it smells in the can but pretty close

The setup is more important then the shisha..
U can smoke blue mist with bullshit setup and coal and u'll get bad / none flavour.. Or u ca smoke crappy tobacco with good setup and then u at least know its the shisha thats bad..
Describe ur setup, foil hole pattern, ammount of coal etc... and we might be able to assist

my setup was a standard 21" egyptian pipe, small glazed clay bowl, medium density packed shisha, about 20 toothpick sized holes in double layer foil, 1 starlight ql coal (33 mm) iced water in the base. the result was a rather mild mint taste that finished in about 1 hour. not what i was expecting after dishing out $22.

where are you placing the coal, it should be at the edge of the bowl if not even a touch hanging off. if that doesnt help at all try splitting the coal in 2 (before you light it) and put one half on each side to spread out the heat more.

also i would try more holes honestly i put a boat load of hole in my foil for every bowl

it will take a little while to figure out how to smoke blue myst, mostly with the heat management of it, its not an easy shisha but its no where near as hard as tangiers.

i pack it pretty lose, like i pull it all apart and drop it in and just kind of move it around to fill the gaps.

also are you moving your coal? if not try moving every 10-15 mins

Starbuzz happens to be my preferred shisha for all my smoking and it can be a bit tricky to work with at times. A few tips : 1) Starbuzz likes a lot of heat to get started. Its pretty Juicy, so I usually start with two 33mm coals (I use Goldencoal Quicklights) 2) Aluminum Foil is meh Get yourself a bowl screen, a high quality bowl screen can help spread heat much more evenly and wont crinkle or warp like foil can sometimes.

my two cents: like others have said, its probably a heat issue. With Starbuzz, I start off with 2 natural coals to get started, then just to 1 coal, moved/rotated every 15 mins. or so...

I think its betetr to split up and give heat from 2 different places instead of one larger piece of coal..
so try breaking up the coal in half and put on each side.. i havent used starlight coals, and really I wouldnt smoke SB with any thing other then natural coals or three kings/******* hookah quicklights..
abnyway try even using 3 pieces of 33mm coal.. put them in a triangle. and if it burns, take 1 piece of and use windcover maybe.,. but I think that starbuzz would manage 3 pieces of 33mm coals , I almost always use 3 pieces of coal when i smoke.
in worst case 2 pieces and a windcover ..

Also, I have found that too much heat makes the mint flavor disappear before it even starts to get harsh. So too much heat is just as bad for it as not enough heat. I also try to keep the bowl packed pretty light, since a little goes a long way with SB. Blue Mist remains my favorite flavor to date though.
