Default Smoke Smell

Obviously I'm new to hookah. I currently live at home and my parents are cool with hookahs but with the weather getting colder my smoking will be moving indoors. My parents (mom) are concerned with the smoke smell getting absorbed into the furniture. I've always smoked outside so I have no idea how permanent the smoke is. Can anyone give me some advice?

The smell lingers on for few hours; but once you air the room, the smell goes away. Trust me, I have been smoking indoors for about 6 years.

I find it to be like an air freshener, quite nice. But yeah the smell dissipates.

+1

A lot of my roommates love it when I light up the hookah inside...it covers up the stale beer smell.

It smells only for the time the hookah is running.. when your done, blow out your hookah, then remove the hose and blow it out, remove the charcoal from the bowl and put it in the ashtray.. and the smell will be gone very soon..
This is great thing about hookah, it does not in any way go into clothing and furniture!

+1 for Nima! Yeah dude I smoke inside in my room all the time and my mother always compliments the smell. For instance, I smoked a coffee flavour and my mother was like "That aroma was so nice I had to get up and fix me a cup of coffee" and then the other day I smoked Tangiers - I can't remember the flavour - and my mother said to me, "What was that you were smoking?" and I say "Oh it was some Tangiers" and she says "That stuff smelled fantastic"...but as for how long it will smell, it will drift away shortly after you finish smoking, but it's not anything like cigarette smoke and it won't stain your furniture bro

the only time ive seen hookah linger very long or penetrate much was at the lounges where people are smoking for 8-9 hours straight with many people smoking.

my place never smells after i smoke, only smell i ever had was when i lit my exoticas up inside and some times if you walk in while cocos are lighting up you catch a whif of coal.

a good friends place that i smoke at frequently when im back home some times has a touch of smell but its just a nice sweet hint of smell.

i would just try to start off in a place that your parents dont mind if it does decide to stick like garage or your own room or another lightly used room.

There's no burning smell, no harshness, no watery eyes. The shisha smoke in your room will be fine, hell I like when my room smells like whatever I've been smoking

My opinion is that theres no need for any pre-cautions .. smoke where ever u want in whatever room.. it will NOT stick to furniture and even if we would play a game for fun saying it will.. its just to open windows for a few hours maximum..

So smoke on my opinion!

i think your totally right just putting that out there to have a barrier if it bothers any one else in the house and show he is being considerate then he can show the family there what is there and see if they care or not then mover to a better area

Limit yourself to floral and light fruity flavors and it may even be appreciated. Make sure to smoke nothing with a dominant tobacco flavor or anything too "rich". Obviously keep it to the hookah too.

don't worry so much about the lingering smell as the permanent and destructive force of the coals.....take many precautions, my friends and i went so far as to buy a set of 'auxiliary rugs', because after MANY spills, we decided it would be better to blanket the entire area than permanately screw up the carpet. a slight smell hanging out for a couple hours your parents can deal with, permenately screwed up carpet/flooring/furniture your parents will have a much harder time forgiving you for
