I keep reading that the phunnel uses so much shisha, but honestly, my phunnel takes about the same amount of shisha to pack as my old bowls :|, even without a mod. Now, I know after getting a tiny littloe bowl with my MZ I assume that must be the size of the 'clay egyptian' bowls I keep reading about....But I'd smoke that dry in 30 minutes?

I dunno...I can't see myself using anything but my phunnel ever again. I haven't tried a vortex but I don't see the need for me personally.

Ok question here. NazarHookah has those Free Vortex bowls with the holes poked too low. How will that affect the smoke? Will that make it more likely to clog or drip or will that provide more airflow to the bottom?

fezzik.. u seem to hunt the perfect things so why bother with free vortex bowls..
get urself what u need instead. either a real vortex or a phunnel with a mod and then when u have gotten ur hookah for christmas u can experiment and then u will understand for yourself what is best to do and use and pack and this and that.. its the best way to learn, selfexperiment!

Of course. Of course. Though I have 43 days until I get it. As I said I will probably just use the Egyptian bowl that came with it for quite a while. I was just wondering about that one. Basically I have everything I need for probably a month or two. Currently I am feeding my curiosities.

Also sambooka brought this up in the FAQ thread. Are those necessary or a luxury or maybe even a bit gimmick?

I got one of Nazar Hookah's free Vortex's, which should be in tomorrow. I have never used a phunnel or vortex, my only experience is with standard egyptian and mya bowls. I will let you guys know how it compares to a standard, although I guess it weighs in less heavily than experience with a phunnel or true vortex.

I use phunnels just because clean up is easier and I get no dripppings into the stem with wetter tobaccos.

yeah the FREE vortex bowl would work just fine .. just pack you tobacco in it loosely.

Cheers!

ON the Nazar site they say that they work about like a standard. Anyway you can get two for the price of shipping which apparently is 9 bucks. That doesn't sound too bad.

Anyway it is just interesting how polarized people are on this. Kind of cool really. I kind of wonder which side I will come out on.

Yes, i have a normal and a free vortex too. The normal one is really good, i love it. The free one works just like a normal egyptian one, but the middle part of the bowl helps, that the foil won't touch your tobacco.

I think this hobby is all about experimentation and once you have a good hookah go from there. Its all about what you like luckely our hobby of hookah its cheaper than allot. when your ready to place another order pick one up you wanna try. Trust me when i say the hookah is addictive in the stand point of always wanting more. Weather its flavors, hoses, diffrent hookahs or just more and more clouds make it what you want and once you figure out your rig and how to manage each bowl coal and rig youll be in heaven. I was frustrated at first now i look forward to it every day so just experement if you have to see if you could borrow a bowl or somthing just to play with then buy the one that best suits your needs. just a thought!
