Default ******* hookah ql or Naturals

Alright I've had my KM for a couple days now and I ordered some ql's with it. After a couple sessions with the quick lights i wasn't getting much as in clouds and flavor, so i decided I'd try some naturals just to see if it was the ql's and to my surprise it started smoking way better than with the ql's. Now maybe its just me and my hookah newbieness, but I thought both were exactly the same as in heating the shisha?

I've also found this out. usually takes 3 CH QL's to get my small phunnel going, as opposed to 2 coco-naras

i would go with naturals they always tend to last longer, only down side is that they take lnger to get going so if your smoking on the road or sumthing or you wanta quick smoke get the Ql's but if you have time and you wanna relax i say spend the time lighting the naturals.

The CH QL's worked wonders for me in terms of smoke.
and the naturals were really good too.

CH QLs for the win...

Biggest hassle about hookah set up is lighting coals. Now I smoke whenever I please.

And yes you need 3 QLs to start your phunnel.

I love the QLs, they light so easy and John's coals ash so perfectly.

I haven't tried his natural coals though because I only have a gas stove which sucks for lighting naturals. Once I get a plug in electric burner I'll prolly switch to CH natural coals.

Well, this is why there are nattys and QLs. If I want to smoke after work, I'll pack the bowl lighter and only use two QLs. If I want to sit back and relax for a time, I'll roast some nattys and pack the bowl a little heavier. I only use enough for the time I want to spend and dont "go deep" on coals and tobacco everytime I smoke, I don't think its the coals.

Agree with this one. I use 3 QLs no matter what brand to heat the phunnel, then reduce to 2 for smoking. Add the third one back when they burn down a bit. Works just fine. I personally like the CH QLs over the nats, I'm just way too lazy to care about naturals. Really.

i haven't tried CH QLs, but the QLs i did try are garbage. however, i trust john and i know that his coals are quality either way. Still, given the added chemicals and stuff, and the fact that even though they are "quick lights" it takes just about as long for them to get ready as a natural, you just don't need a stove/burner.... just a lighter and your good.

KillerB look out for a review im doing on CH QLs, its filmed, im having issues putting it together right now though (sadly)

anyhow, his QL's taste exactly like his natties, exactly. I prefer to use natties though, just cause i usually smoke indoors and can wait 3minutes on a coal.

i am not at all saying anything bad about CH products of any kind. John puts out oustanding products. I maintain, however, that quick lights in general dont light any quicker than naturals, they just can be lit with a lighter instead of a stove. It takes just as long, if not longer for them to get glowing all around.

but, as i said, i haven't tridh JOHN's ql so maybe he broke the system and his light faster... is that adressed in you video PL?

my lighter burnt out, it took like 15seconds of flame to light, but once it gets going it pretty much keeps going. It catches fire man, not just sparkles.

and if you have a good lighter, the QL's light quick. You should invest in a cheap butane lighter, they start coals instantly, it takes like 20-25sec normally w/ my zippo.

We sometimes light the three kings coals at the restaurant with the old coals and it takes about 45 seconds if that to ash over. Oh sure we gently blow on it and stuff but They light fast. I can't speak for John's but by the descriptions I would say his are killer. To me if a QL smokes like a natural I don't see any reason to get the naturals. That is just me though. It is much easier and more convenient to carry a lighter than a single burner stove.

i prefer the nats over the qls. the qls seemed to go black on the bottoms after a few pulls. i have to constantly maintain them. on top of that i have gotten a longer session out of nats than the qls.

killerB, i can understand the frustration with the lighting. i have used zippos and normal lighters in an outdoor environment and getting the coals to stay lit or even sparking takes over 20-35 seconds.
