Default Split Bowl

I am talking about the bowl with the split down the middle. Has anyone ever used these before? If so, have you had much success? They seem good in theory but heat management seems to be a little weird though.

it may be a little awkward at times with the coal if it goes over the middle as it wont sit right. the harder part is getting both sides packed with the same ammount of tobacco and packed the same way otherwise you will get more flavor out of one side than the other creating an imbalance.

i have, but i set it up for a "two" smoking session - one now, one later, putting the coal over 1 side only at a time (works well that way)... otherwise as boom said, it's a pain to make sure it's packed just right for a good smoke.

never even wanted to try one of those. heat management seems like it'd be a pain in the ass.

looks like a decent idea in theory, but in practice is rather failing. I've got a blue tribowl somewhere and I can't say I've been all that proud of it lol.

Aren't split bowls for people that are bi-polar? LOL
I don't see a use for them myself other than Sammn's 2 session deal. I make shisha mixes all the time, and I always mix them then let them acclimate together. Always works for me.

agree with dunkel, if you want a mix just make a mix and let them sit together. Also if people think that creates more smoke it really doesn't...Just using a wide mouth bowl and putting 2 coals will produce more smoke then 1 coal on 2 seperate intergrated bowls.

it is kind of hard to manage the heat and cover both sides of the bowl at once with quicklights but the bowl works pretty well with naturals i guess..

i think it is just a lot easier to premix the tobacco in the bowl and smoke

ive always been told to steer clear of those... i wouldnt recommend it... heh you can do the same with a regular bowl just mix your shisha's on some aluminum foil before you smoke, it seems like it would be convenient but from what i can see there are more downsides than upsides to those bowls...

I have one of those bowls with two heads, haven't tried it yet, but you can bet I will! Will use it for mixing and for single flavors in both heads...

I don't see anything wrong with this split bowl you mentioned, I think it got written off, without a fair trial. If you got one, try it out! If you are thinking about getting one, I don't see the harm in getting one and playing around with it!?

Cheers!

Split bowls really serve no purpose. If you think about it, couldnt you just fill your bowl with half of one flavor and half of the other flavor? These bowls are basically just gimmicks and are soon forgotten by the people who know they aren't worth it. On top of this...mixing your shisha will get you better results instead of separating 2 different flavors.

With that said however, I have set a bowl up, with 3 different flavors. I called it the "Citrus" blend and I still do it to this day because it was so nice. Get a large bowl, and put Al Amir Orange, Al Fakher Lemon, and Afzal Lemon-Lime. You wont believe it...again, not mixed. Try it sometime
