Default AF issues?

I have not heard any news regarding the cut of Al Fakher tobacco and I want to place a fairly large order to make use of the deals that are going on today.

have there been any recent changes? What is the consensus? I don't want a third of my order to be useless and need a lot of luck and work to smoke right.

the only flavor that truely had issues was the grape. Although they did tweek the recipe on some others, it was not a problem.

That is what I figured. Not reading about the rage associated with the new cut for a while and seeing good reviews continue to be posted gave me hope.

Hey Abu your tastes and mine seem to parallel quite a bit. How does this sound? anything you might add? I am ordering from John of CH.

AF
Pipe
cardamon (I am considering switching out for mint...)
grenadine

(expired sale)
plum
cherry
melon

Salloum
unflavored

nakhla
lemon

SB
Pumpkin pie

As well as some necessities like coals and some new grommets.

looks good to me! salloum is great and the af stuff looks good. The nakhla lemon has a lemondrop/candy type flavor that is good but not very authentic lemon.SB is not a brand I smoke but I have "squeezed the bag", so to speak on the pie and it smelled ok.

The only AF flavor I have ever had issues with was their Cinnamon. I have a kilo and a 250g of cinnamon here and they are both very dry, flavorless, and mostly stems. They don't match the usual AF quality at all. Everything else from AF has been awesome.

kal, AF cardamom is a great flavor. I would suggest maybe sticking w/it. mint is also great but I preffer the mizo mint

Pumpkin pie is one of my favorites as well as a favorite among my friends. I just wish it were a bit spicier. Sometimes I mix it with a strong spice flavor to kick up that flavor note.

Any advice for a good lemon? I tried the nakhla once when a friend cam back with a 250 and it was ok for me. It has been a while since I tasted it and can always justify smoking a good, robust fruit and lemon blend.

I am probably going to be trading around for some 7 spice. I have heard wonderful things about it and it seems like just what I need for a good spice mixer to throw into weaker and sweeter blends.

I am always too indecisive when it comes to spending money. I am wary of the cardamon because I have never tried it but am super curious and on your advice it is going to stay on the list. I am thinking of dropping the expired deal and grabbing AF mint as I love mint and it has been a long time since I last smoked it. lol... damn my miserly tendencies.

have you tried the SB xmas mix? It is one only 2 SB flavors I like. Don't get me wrong, the nakhla lemon is good, but if you want an authentic flavor AF may be an option(mixes well W/mint)

Still bad. Very Bad, Lemon was unsmokeable.

And Apricot tasted like Pine-sol.

Ohh I have a ass-load of 7-spice if you would like to try it out.

Ya I have a good chunk of the christmas mix in my collection. I love it but as with the pumpkin pie I think it would be better with a healthy pinch of spice added. I am shifting things around a bit and may drop the expired in place of mint, lemon and maybe cinnamon.

Then again I am biased. almost everything I eat, drink, smoke and brew includes spice and honey in some way.

Idk, lately, AF has been having a smoking prob for me.

Its like unsmokeable. Its not harsh but "too strong" on the throat when I smoke AF now....Like the flavors are too strong or something. Acclimating doesn't help, for me at least.

Thanks a bunch for the input. I am just going to take the plunge and do it. I have had decent luck with "difficult" smokes. things like traditional juraks and Tangiers have treated me fairly well. So whatever. My loss if anything goes badly I guess.

Exactly my problem, if it is in fact "my problem". Only good stuff I've had that was a recent batch was Mint and Cardamom. I would recommend those 2 flavors indefinitely.

as far as cinnamon is concerned, nakhla sheherazade cinnamon is hands down the best on the market. Also, don't be afraid to add spices such as nutmeg or cinnamon ect, to liven up your tobacco.

Huh. for some reason I never thought of that...

I am actually a traditional herbal smoker as well and I have a lot of mints that I am going to try adding to my hookah tobacco. For some reason although blending flavors was obvious to me in other areas it was never really a thought concerning hookah tobacco and other elements. There are a lot of really nice flavors that can be derived from herbs as proven by some more traditional and complex tobaccos. I was actually planning on blending a true herbal shisha tobacco using raspberry leaf rather than the sugar cane fiber we see most often.

Just as a disclaimer: I have never smoked anything illegal and do not intend to do so. Just getting rid of that thought before it arises.

Older AF Cinnamon and Nakhla Cinnamon taste the same to me, and smell the same, Nakhla just a tinge more realistic (less creaminess and nutiness).

great input. I would love to try out 7 spice. I have been a bit relaxed on trying HH and HF partially because my favorite online store does not carry it. I am always looking for new flavors and new lines to try.

PM me if you want to trade me some or just sell it to me.

It's an assumption that bothers me and I have had to fight pretty often. I know a lot of people here have come up against the same issues.

Yes I smoke hookah... no it's not a ____. No it's not for ____. No I am not going to put your ____ in my hookah.
Yes I smoke cigars. No I don't use the wrappers for that. no you can't have one of mine for that. That one cost more than I value our friendship at and it's been aging for two years in spanish cedar. (kidding about the value)
Yes I smoke a pipe. God damn it no it's not a piece... I don't care if you think it looks like Gandalf's pipe and you think he was smoking ____.
No herbs do not instantly translate into ____.
Read a book!

/rant

back to topic lol (sorry)

I settled on what I am getting (I believe). I will update once the order actually goes through.

I want to thank everyone for the advice and input. Wish me luck I guess
