Exclamation All Nakhla Experts (Help needed)

I purchased 250g Nakhla DA last week. There is smoething wrong with it.

It is harsh and there is little smoke. I smoked this shisha million times and never got disappointed but I don't know what is wrong this time.

Could it be expired !! the problem is that I couldn't find the expiration date.

You rang?!
first, have you changed anything regarding your set up? Coals, bowl, foil, ect.
This is odd coming from Nakhla. While I did have a slight flavor issue w/a recent 50g I bought, I feel nakhla is the most consistent brand on the market.Nakhla doesn't date their product so its hard to tell. Was the bag in the box clear or foil w/the logo? The old AN used to have a diff. wrapper I beleive.

yes, that could very well be the case. i have had the same problem when i bought an old batch from a local store. if its extremely dry (not oily like usual) then its probably expired.

you could still try to add some teaspoons of glycerin if you happen to have that around the house.

The only change I made is that am using CH natural coals instead of belgian QL's.

As usual, the tobacco is wrapped with plastic and the whole thing is wrapped with foil with NK logo on it.

I honestly don't know what the problem is. Nakhla DA has been a staple in my cupboard for as long as I've been smoking and I've never had this issue. Maybe try some higher heat?

some stores get nakhla from egypt because it costs cheaper. you could tell by the wraping difference it is a little thinner than the one made for USA. or it could be your setup

the only nakhla distr. for the US market is located in Ca. And considering noone in Egypt smokes anything other than DA, zaghloul and Qass, I doubt they would change their manufacturing process for the US market because the US and Europe are basicly the primary market for the majority of their flavors.

The problem is the same here. There are soo many expired Nakhla tobaccos in Hungary. I mean most of them are dry as hell, has no flavour and no smoke either. But if u can get fresh Nakhla tobacco from somewhere, thats the way to go! There is nothing better, than a bowl of nice fresh Nakhla. Yum-Yum

Try a windcover to get some heat into that bowl, I do that every time and it works flawlessly. I put the windcover on with 2 CH QL's and dont touch it for 3-5 mins and let the heat build up, then it smokes like a chimeny on X-Mas day.

I dont think that problem is that its expired. I smoked a 6 year old batch of nakhla DA and it was absolutely fine. Nakhla has been the most consistent brand for me for years now and double apple my No.1

I beg to differ. For instance, taking a nice hit off a car exhaust goes down much smoother and produces bigger clouds.

But in all seriousness, I couldn't tell you what's wrong. People are going to say heat management, make sure tobaccos not touching the foil, etc. but I'm sure you've heard that song and dance. Honestly Nakhla doesn't do it for me, I've always found it to only have a slight flavor to it. Maybe it's the same way for you
