Unhappy Harsh Smoke

Hi guys, i'm new to the forum, but i'be been smoking shisha for a few years now. i recently bought a new shisha from Dubai, an Ager, its an absolute gem.

..but..i can never get my shisha so last long without is becoming harsh. i'm always cleaning it.

i use fresh water, al fakher tobacco (usually grape, double apple or plum) with the orange packet round coals. very often my smoke isn't as tick as i want and very quickly can become harsh.

i was thinking or purchasing a new pipe which has more pull, and a larger flatter bowl as i notice often theres fresh shisha left at the bottom of the charred stuff.

any other advice, suggestions would be great.

thanks in advance

Sohail

If it starts out nice, and ends up being harsh, not lasting long, the biggest reason behind this, I've found, is that you are burning and not steaming the tobacco.

If you undo the foil, and see under the foil, and there is charred tobacco stuck to the foil. Then you are burning the tobacco.

All you need to do is pack the bowl w/ less tobacco, it shouldnt touch the foil, it should have space.

try this out before getting another bowl...

lets just go ahead and say, the only time you want to use a vortex or a phunnel is w/ really wet tobacco, when you dont want to let the juices drip down the stem. Those bowls arent special at all.

if you're using a different bowl than what you're used to, that could also be the problem with not getting the heat management down correctly

what are orange packet round coals, i am thinking the box is orange with instant lights which would be 3kning knock offs or pharoahs rolled fingers, eithr of which are crap coals and could be adding to this. as far as better shisha there are tons of reviews and opnions on this site, have fun learning what works best for you.

thanks for all your replies, i did notice the other coals i use which are silver sticks and need a stove to light definately caused the smoke to go harsh. i think i will deinately invest in some new bits just to see what the difference is. i'll also take some pics of it, it definately is a nice shisha.

does anyone know of any uk websites i could purchase authentic flavours and coals from?

Do what photo said, sprinkle the tobacco in and dont pack it in hard, use less coals, cut the quicklights in haf and put them on either side.

And Al Fakher is fine theys just too many haters out they, its still one of the best and in london that and nakhla probably the only decent shisha you can get.

Order some shisha from U.S websites, P.M me if you want a few good sites that post to U.K and minimise the chance of customs
