Default Natural Ingredients & freshness

I asked this elsewhere, and not getting very useful replies, so I'll ask here in the hopes this forum is a little more helpful.

What brands of shisha are "all natural" ? Eg, no funky dyes/colors, artificial flavors, etc.

And

Which vendors sell *fresh* product (got expired product from a vendor and want to avoid that in the future.)

Please don't start a debate about the virtues of "natural" vs "artificial" - I just prefer the concept of natural ingredients, leave it at that =)

I think the 2 tobacco brands that are designer (hand-made in the US) are natural. Molasses is natural, honey is natural, glycerin is fairly natural, tobacco is natural - it's just the flavors I don't know about. You can call Eric from tangier's lounge and ask him, I bet he'd love to answer your questions about his product. I bet Scoop knows this off the top of his head though.

The other brand is Epic Smoke, i know they don't add any crap in there, but agian their flavoring are most likely not natural. The Peppermint is very good though, and very true.

nakhla does not use any artificial flavourings it their moassel. They make them with sugarcane mollases, honey and natural flavourings from fruits
Am not sure about tangiers but Epic smoke uses what i would call artificial flavourings (eg. http://ec.europa.eu/food/fs/sfp/flav_index_en.html)

I found this via faqs.org:

http://www.faqs.org/rulings/rulings1998NYNY1855.html

In your letter, dated July 22, 1998, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of your client, Delta Trading Import Export, Brooklyn, NY.

The merchandise is "The Nakhla Tobacco Factory" brand of molasses tobacco with apricot flavoring. The ingredients are 65 percent inverted sugar syrup, 28 percent tobacco leaves (sourced from Italy and the United States, and comprised of 20 percent stems and 8 percent tobacco), 5 percent glycerin, and 2 percent fruit (in assorted flavors such as orange or apricot). The net weight is 250 grams.

Was just looking for the ingredients list...But finding this is almost like having the exact recipe

Wow lots of stems!! I'm not sure how to read that line "28% tobacco, comprised of 20% stems, 8% tobacco" -- Does that mean that out of that quantity of tobacco, more than 60% of it is stems

Default Speaking of ingredients...

I must be slow, cos it just occurred to me, if shisha tobacco is only 30% tobacco (more or less) why is it so freakin expensive?

Maybe this topic should be a new thread?

You are paying for... Production(manufactuing to packaging).. Tobacco, Molasses, Glycerin, and flavors. Not just tobacco.
