Question question about homemade windcover

I know there are dozens of threads, but I have a specific question. I have an empty alumunum green bean can with one end opened. When making a windcover do I punch holes in the top? Cut the top off? Punch holes in the sides? Or is a green bean can too small and I need to crack open the family sized bush baked beans can?

I just use foil as a wind cover cheap and fast. Just wrap it around the bowl.

All a windcover has to do is block the wind. You can acheive that with most cans, however, if you want to retain more heat, a smaller windcover would keep it hotter. But there is also the risk of burning the shisha and making it harsh. But yea, holes on top and sies should be fine....one bigger hold on top like a quarter/half-dollar size would be good

i would just use foil.. but if you do use a wind cover al the time, so to save time and money make it from can what ever size you please.. and i would cut the top off and punch like 3 or 4 holes in the side with like a can opener or something.

if the can fits over the bowl with 3 or more inches above it then its the right size. poke holes in is with a pointy can opener (the one you would use on a can of v8 juice) and put holes under the coal level since hot air rises and will need to pull cooler air up from below. i wouldn't cut the whole top off but i would put hold in the top.
