I've never had a great experience with one. I know they are good for outside, especially when its cold, but last time i used one the shisha got way to hot way too fast, even though the room was cold. Now, I find myself more willing to do traditional heat management rather than burn the shisha.

Great post! My roommate and I were using the windcover all the time when we smoked, but then we stopped using it cuz it seemed useless. We assumed that it was mostly used if one was smoking outside only. Now, however, im gunna have that windcover set up...

I use it when I am smoking inside to heat up the bowl (it keeps heat in). Once smoke is thick and bowl is started, I remove it to avoid scorching the tobacco prematurely. If after a while smoke gets too thin, I put it on again .....etc.

windcovers, in my oppinon, are great... just make sure theres not other coals on the tray where it is resting... that seemed to add ALOT of heat and thus burnt my shisha.
