Honestly KH, i think the seating is to close together,

is that to correct scale? if so there is no way people will be able to get in and out easily none the less servers

the top 3 areas and the bottom right are good while the bottom left and center look too crowded. not trying to be a pita just trying to make it as best of a situation as is posable.

with the way it is laid out it looks to be that you have seating for almost 100 people, i dont know fire code, and all fire codes are local but i think your occupation limit may be less due to side and number of exits. the local place is at least 30X50 (guestimate) and its fire code occupation limit is 45

I did a 35x50 grid, everything is to scale. I like the general layout, but I do agree it may be too crowded. I am going to keep reworking the design until I am satisfied, plus I have nothing better to do tonight lol.

ya with that people will have to be jumping over couches to get in, im really betting with that size your occupancy limit is going to be a decent amount lower than the seating you have there

That is true, I doubt I would be able to hold that many people. I moved stuff around, there is around 2ft between each couch, which should be more than enough room to walk in between.

that is starting to look better to my eye, the center seems a little tight still but over all a better lay out

worst case scenario you get some furniture and then just some folding chairs and small tables and use those until you can establish how much you can fit in with the occupancy allowance

i think i mentioned this before, or at least in another thread but it should be restated

if people start talking about illegal substances in your lounge you should at the minimum warn them and on the second offense at most ask them to leave, the guys that run the local lounge kick people out right out because they do not need any bad images of the place and try to keep it extremely legit some times to excess but it for the best

one of my good friends when we went to the lounge the first time was kind of worried if it was legal and all (he is in USCG and didnt want to have any issues since already they were told they could not go to hookah lounges for no reason other than there is a stereotype, be it totally wrong its there)

and card card card, its kind of a no brainer but none of the lounges up here do it since its right next to a college but there are plenty of minors that go there, in fact one night a chick passed out and i was the first responder she was fine but she kept passing out so my self and a navy PO insisted she get checked out by EMS.

also for that reason i suggest you have a couple of your people trained in basic first aid, and its just a good idea when you have a place that is serving a lot of people that you at least have some one around that knows CPR and all that just because of the number of people around you never know what will happen

I have first aid and CPR certification already, so does my fiancee who will be helping me run the bar.

I plan to card everyone who comes in, just card at the door.

Yea, a local hookah bar in a nearby city lets in waay too many minors, im talking like 15yrs old, and the worst part is, is that they are always loud and obnoxious, it kinda ruins the atmosphere.

I don't think I will let anyone in under 18, there is no point.

its not that the lounges let them in to just chill, they let them in and let them smoke since they do not card them

I really like the middle east style sitting in pillows on the floor. More of an arabic lounge atamosphere.

Sitting on the floor would get old way before the bowl was even finished, I think couches/love seats would work better.

agreed. one of the lounges up here is either booth seating or cushions that are built into the wall and low. they are not very comfy and i think i have only spent 2-3 hours maybe once there for the longest where as the one back home that is couches and some chairs and tables my normal time is 2 hours min and ive spent a few 4-5 hour nights there before
