Default Lebanese Hookah

I have a Lebanese Hookah that uses a different style adapter for the clay bowl.

Instead of the bowl being wide at the bottom and fitting onto a grommet placed over the stem adapter, the bowl is narrower, and fits onto a grommet that slips into a metal ring, sort of the opposite of the Egyptian style.

Having purchased a few new Egyptian style bowls, I was wondering if anyone knew of an adapter, maybe even a homebrew idea to getting Egyptian bowls to work on my Lebanese Hookah.

Pictures to come.

Thanks.

yeah there are adapters out there, but if you can make your own and save some money that would be better

Just buy the bowl that was designed for it. I use these bowls in mine and they work very well. They say Syrian but it's the same as the Lebanese fitting.

the ''male to female'' bowl/stem connection is common on many traditional Syrian and Lebanese narghile.
I've never seen an adaptor but I believe Byron when he says they're out there. Otherwise, anyone proficient w/a lathe could easily carve such an item out of brass or even a hardwood like walnut or even maple.

Thanks guys.

I figure I will just adhere a grommet that fits the female stem to a standard bowl grommet, Either that or I will have to weld some kind of metal fitting that can accept a female bowl.

my father in law just got here from lebanon and brought me some of these bowls in unglazed clay, these are great not only since they fit but they are unglazed, i hope the mods don't mind me posting about it here but bc of this thread i should offer them on the site. I will make an announcement in the vendors section shortly.

Gah! If only Andrew and I knew when we placed our order last week! I had to use some ceramic adhesive to repair my (glazed) clay bowl, but it seems like the bowl is very deep.

Once we smoke long enough, the tobacco starts burning and we change the bowl, but the problem is that wet shisha remains at the bottom because of the depth. I guess its just the style of bowl, or am I doing something wrong when smoking it?

yeah, just call it a male bowl, vs the more common female bowl.

its called a syrian bowl cause more syrian hookahs traditionally used that style. but it really is no better or worse

Well, one could argue that your likely to have more juice running down into te stem w/a male bowl than you would w/a standard.
