I've gotten some past dues from local joints. To tell the truth, I don't think that if they're over a month or two, they get chunky or anything weird like that. It always seems to be a "best by" date.

Well, since I only smoke Starbuzz I wouldn't be able to tell you if the expiration date really matters or not...Starbuzz doesn't put any expiration date on their tubs, so you never know if you're buying a fresh tub or a possibly old tub...but even after the fact, I've never bought a tub were I could say that it was possibly expired for w/e reason...

Usually shisha has the production date to see how fresh it is. Expiration date is pointless. shisha never expires if stored right. But usually after two years in the box it starts to lose it juices and becomes tasteless and does not produce those thick clouds anymore. I used "expired" shisha hundreds of times and some of them were better than non-expired due to good storing.
If you go to a shop in person try to get a fresh tub as it will always be better. thats my advice. I, even if i order from phone, ask whats the production date and ask for the most recent.

I have smoked from 4 tubs of expired shisha and all of them had plenty of juice, smelled as they were supposed to, and smoked just fine. In my exoerience as long as the original package (the inner bag (s)) is intact and it hasn't been stored in a hot car, it should be just fine.

I heard they are still good 30 days after but then it starts to lose flavor etc. So its feasable to smoke it well after the date on teh tub but it wont give you the same as a brand new tub.

I take it like food - some foods are really bad at the EXP date (milk, sandwich meat, ect) others can be used for an XX amount of time before they really go bad (bread, cereal, ect). The EXP date sometimes just a "Best Used By Date".

I've smoked some out of date shisha; some was fine, others tasted off (sorta plasticly) and although they were still juicy, they well past the EXP date. I always just shoot for the best production date and store it well, but ...

I've recently purchased an "in date" box of AF that due to the way it was stored - tasted VERY off (stored in DIRECT sunlight in the dead of summer, in the front window of a shop). But I've bought from that vendor before under the same conditions and it was fine. Alot of things can go into the condition of shisha and it's usability/smokablity.

All tobacco has a 2 year shelf life. However, after these 2 years, the shisha should still be fine. I've had 4 year old Al Amir Apple that was sensational.

I can't see why age matters. I while back someone gave some AF black that was literally 10 years old yet a little glycerine was all it took to make a fantastic smoke.

Wouldn't that be great, if shisha got better with age!? Like scotch or wine!?
