Default Problems AF with Phunnel

Does any one have problems when using AF with a tangiers phunnel, it always seems to get harsh for me no matter how lightly i pack it and the gap i leave, and they is a tickle at the back of my throat

But when i use a standard clay bowl no problems at all, it just seems wierd that AF doesn't work well for me with a phunnel

And has anyone got a video of how they set up a phunnel with AF?

Yeah i do that as well, the AF ain't expired it was produced from jan 08 to jan 09, it seems to smoke fine with a clay bowl, but just not the phunnel, sometimes it works fine and its smokes great, but thats 1 in 5 other times something seems to be wrong

Maybe i'll just carry on trying, cos i love the session when it smoke good

Had the same prob with the phunnel

http://www.hookahpro.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5618

I just double foil it and do the setup as described by r4g3d

This prob has something to do with the very shitty AF cut. I NEVER had any of those problems before AF decided to go with a gerbil sh** looking tobacco cut.

Sorry for double posting but..I just tried the double foil technique and found out it made the problem worse. I don't know why maybe it's because i dont have that much of a gap between the tobacco and the foil? Any suggestions, guys?

just give it space in between the foil and shisha and keep the coal off of the middle of the bowl

Hmm I'll try that next time. Giving it space between the tobacco and foil. I just canceled my session because it was too bad. I feel sick right now .

i prefer my AF in a phunnel. Every tobacco smokes different. You'll get it eventually. I order to keep yourself from getting sick you should probably start out with less heat and add more as you need to. A rule of thumb is to keep the coals spaced opposite each other on the bowl, and flip/rotate them a little bit in any direction. As they get smaller you can move them closer together.

Yeah, I find it better with one foil instead of two. I guess it's just a heat management problem.
