i can see packing it but when the bowl comes off flip it over and it wont drip, i still grab my bowls off when they are hot (use a paper towel to be able to grab it so i dont get burned and carry it upside down, never get drips, then again i dont smoke a lot of really juicy shisha but the flip should stop them no matter how juicy)

I personally like the middle eastern style of using many many small tiles. I'd use a hardwood for the frame, and i'd put a hole in it (credit: Coldgr33ntea) for stability and if the hookah is lower, it'd be easier to move the coals around for a larger hookah. and then cover the top of the table with a bunch of small tiles in whatever color scheme you want, rasta colors in this situation.
