Default salloum plain question

ok quick question, i got some salloum plain from CH and want to know about how moist it should be, i had gotten kass super (nakhla) that was really really dry, this is pretty dry (just the nature of black style in america) but no where near as bad as the kass, should i still mix a touch glycerine and molasses in it.

i assume some one around here as had to get some of this in recently and knows if it really needs it or not

Smoke a bowl and see how it does.
If it burns real easy, then it's too dry. Mine is kind of sticky. It reminds me of reaching into a box of raisins. And it smokes fine in a phunnel bowl.

If you feel it's too dry, than add some moisture to the mix. It really won't do any harm. The kass super I have is fairly moist but I still add a bit of mola-mix and find it smokes much more evenly. Same will apply for Salloum.

I find the kass to have a slighty bitter flavor compared to Salloum,And the kass packs a much more brutal punch regarding buzz the first time you give it a go. but they are similar.

When I got mine, it was extremely wet. Well more sticky, but still MUCH wetter than Nakhla. But, consequently, that one was a bad batch, it only smelled of strong soy sauce. I ordered a new batch, and it was noticeably drier, but still sticky, and was great.

Honestly, though, Desi Murli Plain is much better. It just has a better flavor to me

i treid some of it tonight, mixed with some glycerine and black strap, not much smoke at all (even compared to my kass super, in fact almost no smoke) the tobacco would not unfurl at all when i packed it (doesnt help i have a cut on my finger tip so it was unpleasant to be very aggressive) kind of like some one took tangiers and sucked almost all of the moisture out of it. the taste was ok but not much there. i think i need to mix up a good amount of it and let it sit for a week or 2 to get the moisture into the tobacco.

but ya the description almost being glued together is exactly that. i couldnt even kneed it apart in a zip lock like i do with tangiers (even kass super was easy to kneed apart).

i wish the black style tobaccos would come in a sealed bag like the flavored stuff cause i think the plastic wrap its just folded up in doesnt hold the moisture in very well
