The fourth one is my favorite. I would most definitely buy one of these.

Wouldn't twisting glass while blowing be really hard?

working glass is not easy but after your start to do it a while it becomes easier and just natural to you, for the hot fabrication side (larger vessel blowing etc) you usually use a partner to blow for you but they have tubes so you can blow air into the piece your self, and i have seen some people have things like that for lampworking.

Just an update for everyone, I should have a picture of a functional tip here soon. Can't go into great detail, but I'm sure a lot of you are looking forward to this. Thanks for all the support, and all the ideas.

I am very much looking forward to the outcome. I am always happy to see more people keeping the old trades and arts alive. Glass work is something I have read a lot of literature on but never had the chance to actually practice.

Okay, I have some good news for everyone. Glass tip samples are being made tomorrow, and I'll post up some sample pictures when I can to give you an idea of what we have in store. But officially, we can't really go into details about it anymore. Just as a recap, we're producing durable glass tips for Razan / Nammor hoses. They'll range in size according to design.

Thanks again for all the support and great comments. Both TDE and I are really excited about this undertaking, and we hope we can develop an awesome product for everyone to enjoy.

Love Hookahpro, and love everyone on hookahpro.

I am looking forward to it. I am not really in the financial situation to buy one from you but I would love to see how they smoke. My only concern is the seal with the grommet. Might be hard to get a tight fit when hand making the ends. I bet you are on top of that though. I wish you the best of luck and I bet they will look beautiful.

the raw material comes pre formed in tubes and also you can just use calipers to make sure the ends are the right size, plus worse comes to worse you can cold work the ends down... idk how lamp workers are but glassblowers (being the larger scale version) usually hate cold working

I was just mentioning that getting the taper that will make for a good seal to be even on all sides while hot working the glass will be difficult. Considering that these may end up being optional replacements for nammor/razan hoses the tips would need to fit tightly into the predetermined shape of the grommet.

I got all the appropriate measurements before having the tips designed and made. If need be I'll go back and redo the measurements needed and make a new batch. But I don't think we'll have a problem. I've already setup everything to get this ball rolling. The tips are being made, and the test subjects have been chosen. haha

That is why in the first post in this sequence I said that " I bet you are on top of that though". I have full confidence in your skills in both working the material and in planning.

Ooh test subjects. I hope they love them.

each tip comes with a note saying "by glass we meant lead" but by that point you are obligated to review it... Also it is bad ass looking... conundrum.

ironic side note, lead crystal is not made is any smart place of the world any more (im pretty sure its fully stopped) because it is so toxic to make, and leaches some lead into what it holds depending on what it is (i.e. decanters). but lead poisoning is much much harder to get for an adult than it is for a child , hence why people drink out of decanters that were lead crystal and didnt go crazy

ya random tangent but interesting fact
